Well the X5 was not selling and a chap proposed a swap for a 2008 Octavia VRS. Worth a shout I thought.

I've used it for two days (600 miles) and it's passed my initial test. Nice noise, very pleasant turn of seed (loads of torque steer though), fairly well equipped. I can see bits of cost cutting here and there, but I think I might keep it a while.

Fuel Consumption today was 39.4 mpg. Not bad for a fast 2.0 Petrol.

It's firm and grippy. It's too fast to really get a grip on handling without bumping into a Nissan Micra around the next bend.....

Compared to the X5 the suspension is wonderful.....

Previous day say 37.4. That did include a 90 minute cross London crawl though.

Not sure I will be keeping this. Not keen on changing my own gears!

How come you are selling so soon?

Are the white seat bits dirty or are they actually grey?
I'm not getting on with the driving position. My leg get's forced to the right and my ankle freezes. I'm also finding it too low for some of the places I need to go for work.

My 2010 2.0 TFSI vRS averaged around 33mpg in town, so you may find it's not as good as 39 mpg
As long as it's not below 30 I'm happy!

Coming from 7 years driving diesels I can't wait.
Around town I'd be surprised if you got 30, my Mk5 GTI with the same engine only manages 25. You need to go on longer journeys to achieve mid 30s. Can touch 40 sitting on the motorway.
Motorways exactly where I do most of my driving.
