Well some of you may have seen my random purchases over the last 4 months. V8 Discovery, beer induced, Jag XJ, passion induced, and today, a shed, which was commute induced.

I like the idea of Shedding for a daily, I have a 40 mile daily commute, mixed between country lanes, and motorway. I like comfort, I like diesel, and I like auto's. Climate is a must for the summer, leather is a plus due to the kids, and it must tow the caravan too. So not much to ask for.

Ive been eyeing up Jag S-Type 2.7 TD's for the last fortnight, almost pressed the button on one, but I randomly thought. Why spend 4k, when you can spend 1k. Its only a daily after all. So, today's purchase is this

2006 Renault Espace 3.0dci Auto Initiale.
Full Leather
120k
Cambelt and Service 3k ago
Automatic
Sat Nav
Dual Climate
6 Disc Autochanger
Detachable Towbar
Privacy Glass
Full Panoramic Sunroof

And the only thing I have found that currently does not work - radio 1!!! But thats ok, I like radio 2!

Piccies, after a quick spray with the jetwash tonight. Needs a proper clean though, and all for well into Shed money!

Well I put it in for MOT this morning. Well it was due! I'm not a total mug, but it has cost me £80 in parts. Two N/S Road Springs broken, N/S Track Rod end Advised, but replacing it anyway.

So not too bad, and on the road for another year, with no issues. Now, that £485 tax bill :$

Bravery is certainly in question, I also think I have a few screws loose! It'll be towing over 1600kgs of caravan shortly, so I'm glad I found out about the springs now. The heated seats this morning, burnt my ass going to work, so they work well, cruise is good.

Currently setting cruise at 75 leptons, then heavy footing down country lanes over a distance of 35 miles, Im getting 29mpg. Im quite happy with that!

It would certainly explain why your mechanic was a tad grumpy haha.

Nice to hear of a good story of one though, its going to be doing its maiden towing on Sunday, only about 10 miles to get the van home, and get it all ready for my easter break. 180 miles in now, 26mpg, happy with that. Only downside, 111.9p a litre on diesel, I mean, come on, it costs more to fill this than the V8 discovery (well it has the same size tank) but at least it has double the range!

The OH finally went in it tonight, and loves it too. Glad to hear the Hot Bum Seats as she called them pass approval!

Couple of pictures of todays effort, and the offending springs

Broken rear

Time for that awkward front

New spring on

And the powerhouse!

Indeed, the door apparently hasn't, but the trim has. The rest are black, this is Grey, and the wrong engine size!

No lowering. However, after all this faff. Ive had an offer for over double what it owes me, including the fresh MOT and parts. So, it could be going. What the hell do I replace it with? Shedding at its best here!
