Hello. Ive been a member on here for a while now, and I though maybe id share my little fiesta just in case anyone else out there has some time to kill.
this is my MK6.5 ST 150, its around the 45000 mark and ive owned it since my last car - a fiesta zetec s met its end with a sign post. Its pretty much stock at the moment but i have some plans for it once ive moved house as im due to become homeless shortly.

but here are a few photos of the car as it stands, ive done a few bits and bobs to it but nothing major.

thanks for having a look.

right i know that its been a while since i last posted on here, not a huge amount has changed on the car as shortly after getting it me and some mates bought this to go round Europe in.

its a 2003 audi a6 avant, 2.5 diesel. had 115000 on the clock and needed a bit of tlc, this drained money and time away from the little fiesta but as proof that the audi made it.

with only one slight overheat (a result of a high altitude traffic jam).

and with that out of the way i could turn my attention back to my mighty fiesta. first i decided to paint the plastics

With regards to the gearbox... Erm, not yet. But I am trying to source a replacement as the diff clicks under acceleration and deceleration.

To be honest black wasn't my first choice but it does come up clean and I can't help but love a black car when clean.

Oh and don't worry as soon as I sort the gearbox I'm going to move to the suspension and love wet it a bit. Give it the ride height it should have had from the start.

So, over a year later i still have the car. its been a dream to own and im still enjoying it very much.

since my last post ive done some work to it

first up was to lower it a bit and improve its handling. this was achieved through the eibach pro kit an some brand new shocks.

i made rather short work of it as the car has almost no rust so nothing was seized.

now i know that they are never going to be as good a coilovers but its what i can afford and for my 300+ miles a week its what im happy with. it has improved the cornering body roll and much less nose diving under braking. feels much better for it and... looks so much better in my opinion.

the next thing i did was buy myself a much needed new k&n as the old one was beyond help

it also got treated to a set of team heko wind deflectors. probably not to everones taste but i kind of like them smile

more recently i had the car apart to fit a new PAS cooler as im getting bored of roasting the fluid.

easy fit smile

while i had the bumper off i also fitted a front splitter from triple r composites. makes the front end look amazing in my opinion

time for new front brakes. the old ones were shot, they were run out and it was time for them to go. the new ones come from mtecbrakes and they seem pretty good. a good upgrade over the standard bits.

while i had it in the garage i gave the paintwork a bit of correction and the car a bit of a detail in prep for goodwood hot hatch breakfast club

it came up so good i went for a drive so i could try and capture some more senic photos

and finally one picture from yesterday at goodwood

now that brings it up to date. i hope you all like my little fiesta.

I love it, but I am very bias as I owned a blue one for four years. It was an absolute hoot to drive, and is the closest thing I have driven to what can be described as a little terrier.

I put on a muffler for noise and it was unsurprisingly effective; the standard exhaust is reasonably good kit already so if you wanted to be a little more racecar it can be done without costing the earth.

I had quite a bad camber-wear issue with mine in the rear, I suppose partly as a result of the trailing arm setup but I was told a camber kit would have rectified it. I never bothered, but have you noticed anything on yours? My car was brand new when I owned it so it was not accident-related.
it is a great little car, not the fastest or best handling but it does both well enough to make a boring drive exciting and put a smile on my face.

its got a catback on the way as the existing back box has a rattling baffle which was doing my head in.

ive not noticed any issues with the rear wear on mine. it has fairly even wear.

What was the score with the diff? I've not read the full thread, but I assume someone has abused it pulling out of junctions and exiting roundabouts?
in the end its turned out to be a broke clutch spring. its not causing any damage so im just living with a clicking friction plate until it wears out.

the gearboxes are made of cheese however so i generally take good car of it and its oil.

time for a bit of an update.

the new brakes are ace, so much better than what the car had fitted before. they bite real nicely, the goves mean i get a bit of noise but its a noise that the child in me loves.

roll on a few weeks and i finally got round to giving it an oil change, makes such a difference to the cold starts ans ilde, always worth doing!

then the cold weather turned up. the car was running its original 9 year old battery. one night at 1am the -8 temperatures resulted in a failed battery, you try getting someone to push start you at work at one in the morning. trust me its hard work.

old v new

next up was some new speakers for the rear. the old ones were a bit tired and struggled with any form of dynamic range. their replacements, some vibe units

another old v new. the new vibes have a much bigger and heavier magnet, always a good sign

that pretty much brings us up to date for now. i have a few bits i hope to install over Christmas and another exciting mod probably for the new year when im back from staying at my parents, as this new mod will be much easier on the lift!!

i hope you all continue to enjoy this thread as i am very much looking forward to that new year mod

ok, so since i last posted on here a few bits have changed on the little fiesta. firstly was the engine torque mount. the old one was garbage so i bought a second hand mount with the correct shape for the powerflex bushes

[pic] IMG_5898 by James Baily, on Flickr[/pic]

as you can see the old one had seen better days, a mod i wish id done sooner. the new mount causes much less wheel hop and the engine no longer bashes the firewall. good stuff, and the vibration on idle is no harsher to me than the stock mount was.

the next mod was one ive been waiting almost two years to do... i got a mountune cat back fitted. i have no photos of the exhaust close up but it sounds amazing, pops and bangs and no drone.

with the British winter at full strength the car got dirtier than ive ever seen it

[pic] IMG_6163 by James Baily, on Flickr[/pic]

a bit of snow foam fixed that

[pic] IMG_6210 by James Baily, on Flickr[/pic]

now i dont want to show any pointless photos of it clean as i have much better ones to come. so roll on a few weeks, the weather was nice, i wanted to be outside so i did what only a tru car guy would think to do... i cleaned the engine bay

[pic] IMG_6333 by James Baily, on Flickr[/pic]

[pic] IMG_6335 by James Baily, on Flickr[/pic]

later in the day i was still trying to be outside doing bits on the car when the sky went orange and i had to grab my camera and try my new lens

que some arty shallow depth of field shots

[pic] IMG_6358 by James Baily, on Flickr[/pic]

the brother turned up in his GT86

[pic] IMG_6365 by James Baily, on Flickr[/pic]

now more recently the car was due its mot. i decided to get it up on he ramp at work to give it a once over as i managed to get bits of tree stuck under the car courtesy of storm dorris.

a bit of pre mot prep

[pic] 32922307062_8725074433_o by James Baily, on Flickr[/pic]

then the ST went in for two new Michelin PS3s, tracking and its mot. it passed and i drove to my parents house to give it a good clean

some pictures of my clean Fiesta ST 150

and with that you are all up to date with my little project. i hope the pictures alone made it worth the read. as a treat for it making its mot ive bought a few little bits for it ill update it when ie got something i feel you may want to see.

smile

Big fan of these, like you say they're not the quickest hatch out there but more than enough power to keep you happy and the black paint is a welcome change from the usual blue ones you see. We had one at work that had the full mountune treatment done and it really was a totally different car! The engine bay looked great with the mountune inlet manifold! Enjoy the car
yeh there are quicker cars, but i find this one great fun to drive. id love one of those inlets but they fetch over a grand these days so ill stick with what ive got haha. and yeh you see so many in blue its nice to own a black one, you dont see as many.
