Liquid Yellow Exige V6
Discussion
After selling my BMW 1M last October, I decided that it was time to go back to Lotus. So, after a lot of planning, help from the Lotus Factory and the wonderful Bell & Colvill (Jamie Matthews), my Exige V6 will be ready to collect this weekend! In anticipation for this, I was sent some photos that I wanted to share on here.
The spec is different to others in that I've had it painted in Renault Liquid Yellow (my favourite colour on a car!), with Phantom Black (a gloss black) painted on the spoiler, front splitter, rear panel and side pods.
The interior has had special treatment as well and has been trimmed in alcantara with yellow stitching to match the seats. The steering wheel has also been re-trimmed using the same materials and thread and that will be fitted by the dealer when they collect it tomorrow.
Finally, the car will be fitted with a 2bular exhaust, complete with 100mm carbon tips for a bit more of a sporty note!

Oh my. That's lovely.
Does the top come off these easily or is it still an Allen key job like on the S2?
Be a dear and take a photo in the sunshine with the roof off just to complete my admiration!
The roof does come off and you can have a soft top conversation carried out as well. I'll probably do what I did with my old Exige and only take the roof off when I know it's not going to rain. Does the top come off these easily or is it still an Allen key job like on the S2?

I'll get some photos over the weekend
Thanks for all of the kind comments. It's good to know that I managed to get the colour combination right! The Liquid Yellow / Gloss black combo has not been done before on the Exige V6 from what I know, so we were in uncharted water. Also I didn't want to have the roof or front access panel painted black (like the cup cars) as I thought it might look a little too much. That said I was worried about the balance of black, especially with the spoiler and rear panel all being this colour. However the gloss black splitter and side pods seem to carry the theme through well.
I'm picking up tomorrow. Today is going to be a looooong day......

Lovely, I could easily spend a few days waxing that
I've booked the day off work on Monday to do just that. A proper detail and wax to protect it.I have to say that the liquid yellow is a very interesting colour that I'd never really spent much time with before. In bright direct sunlight the car looks really nice and yellow but then changes as you move around the car. As the sun dropped last night it started to turn more of a golden colour and then when I put it in the garage turned the light off (at dusk) you could have said it looked orange. Clever stuff!

Chris, not that it necessarily matter to hear this from a stranger on the internet, but you had great taste :-)
I love the Exige but have not really been feeling many of the factory colours (a nice blue / green but the rest seem a bit uninspired for a junior supercar). I'm not usually a huge fan of banana-coloured cars but liquid yellow has always been a great hue in my opinion. The other touches set it off a treat and a vocal exhaust is practically necessary for a V6. Bravo.
Thanks and it is nice to know fellow petrol heads appreciate a car that I've spent many hours tweaking and choosing small touches that make it what it is. It's funny you mention the M135i as I had a 1M prior to the Exige and my dad has an M135i that I drove the other day whilst he was in the Exige

Do you have to get out first and then push it in? I thought my garage was tight, but at least I usually have the roof off to aid matters!
I've got more space this the photo suggests. It's a single width but double length garage and I can get in and out without any problems JD said:
I had the most bizarre experience, I was only admiring this thread yesterday at lunch.
I only then saw a yellow Exige in the evening so made sure to catch it up, and it was you! (Followed you into Rayne).
The car looks absolutely stunning in the flesh, well done!

Are they still doing the 50/50 deals? Any discounts available??
Would be tempted by one to replace atom in future but would have to downgrade the m135...

I use a combination of Auto Finesse Desire and Auto Finesse Illusion. I'm also trailing some Gtechniq C2v3 spray over the top which seems to give it decent depth and shine Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
