So with the new RS not far away I thought it'd be a good idea to remind you all how good the old one is!

I have had this around 16 months now, and I came from an EP3 Type-R. I had wanted one of these for a long time, the lusting for an RS model, and having never had a turbo car before, plus I love hot hatches with the small(ish) car big engine ethos.

So I had to drive 2 and a half hours to Bristol to collect this one lady owner 50 thousand miler, and it was the longest drive of my life! But the drive back was one I won't forget. On my test drive I was not given the opportunity to really put my foot down, so getting to do it for the first time was like.....woooah! The push from the turbo back into your seat was something else. And the noise, my my. I really think this is the best thing about this car for me. Such a unique noise that makes it stand out so much from all the 2 litre turbo 4 cylinder engines all hot hatches seem to have now.
For me this makes this car unique.

So after 16 months I have had to put a new radiator in as mine was dropping coolant and this was down to a common fault of dodgy seals on the original rad. An airtec replacement has so cured this, and was worth the extra cost.

The only other issue I had was my oil temp and pressure gauge stopped working, which was cured by pulling a fuse out and putting back in! Seemed to reset them, and has not happened again since, which was about 6 months ago.

Its also running the stage 1 Revo map which should have it putting out 340-350 bhp and apparently 380-400lb/ft of torque, these are the quoted figures but as I have not been on any rollers I am only hoping! It certainly feels faster, the pull in 3rd, 4th and 5th especially noticeable right up to the redline.

4 Michelin pilot super sports were added 2 months ago and were worth every penny, this car really grips like nothing I have ever been in before, especially on a dry road, its quite amazing really. I wouldn't go for another tyre again.

What else can I say but what a car this is. Comfy, massive boot, not bad room and a decent interior (especially the bucket seats). If the prices start coming down on theses because of the new RS, I would strongly recommend one!

Shame iPhone pictures come out so badly on this!

I think the black vents will be my last mod, think your right, would suit the car.

I also changed the badges to green and black. Ties it all together..

Trust me the black alloys look better in the flesh. The photos don't show the spokes very well. As there is so much black elsewhere on the car it really suits it in my opinion.
And I agree on this being a keeper. Does everything you would need it to and is relatively cheap to run.

Agreed on the 5 pot. That's what drew me to this the most!
