hello PH'ers I'm Lee
currently living in south wales
and have owned the car for about a year now and still getting plenty of smiles per miles
she's a 2001 3.4 Carrera 4 with factory fitted aero kit
picked her up with 56k on the clock and a good history complete with receipts showing its had a lot of money and attention lavished on her
anyway enough waffle I know its all about the pics lol
couple from when I 1st got her
1st mod I did that may be a little marmite was to try and modernise the rear by fitting LED rear lights
and a night shot
I've kept the originals and its 10 minutes to swap them should I ever change my mind anyway
next up I loved the sound of the engine at high revs but wanted to enhance that a bit more exhaust is on the too do list but 1st off went for an induction kit which was all about the noise for me and I was never under the impression it was going to add any power but definitely looks a bit sexier under the lid too
before
after
and no idea how to embed them but heres a little vid of the induction kit in action
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_IrBxmGZzE
video doesn't do it justice but it sounds fantastic now and it may be a placebo effect but it does seem to be a bit more urgent from mid to high revs too so win win!
a few other little things I've done since are little things that add up in my eyes
such as LED licence plate bulbs
new on left old on the right
and a little niggle I fixed
scuff on the drives bolster
so out came the scuffmaster kit that I've used on several interiors now with great results
fitted some aero wipers
and she has a bit of a lack of storage space so while stripping my old e36 bmw I pulled out the cargo net and thought hhhmmm I wander and sure enough like a glove so in it went
loads more planned but that's about up to date at the mo! so i'll end with a good bit of pic whoring!
that's all for now folks
any comments both good or bad are welcomed!

@keo I've never driven an elise so cant offer any wisdom there buddy but if your ever in the south wales area I'd happily take you for a spin n see what you think ;-)
@marky911 I'm on the ropes about the wheels but they have definitely grown on me
badge wise I may be wrong but I'm sure I've read elsewhere that the 996.1 is on the upper and the 996.2 on the lower deck lid but don't quote me on that
next things I'm looking into is a private plate and probably a new exhaust system with 100 cell cats
long term wise I'm certainly considering supercharging it! fitted my own supercharger on my old e36 bmw and absolutely loved it

only a tiny update but to keep this going been after updating the stereo in the porka for a while now and having nearly pulled the trigger on buying a new stereo that I liked only to discover unless I changed my phone to apple it would of been a waste of time as it was apple car play based (pioneer da 120)
after a chat with an audio specialist I decided I'd wait for an equivalent android version which will be getting launched in the near future apparently! (any pioneer fans confirm or deny?)
anyway as a cheap and cheerful fix in the meantime I brought a cable off good old ebay that works a treat for £14 quid delivered it was worth a try
after following a good old youtube guide I found out it already had a lead on there that someone had cut off (dension? anyone heard of them? worth fixing it?)
the connections look a bit old school so imagine its not easy to replace these
but anyway 20 mins or so later and activating the aux mode I'm in business and can now stop buying CD's again lol
sound quality is just as good as the normal radio / CD's so cant complain
only gripe I'd have is it doesn't charge the ipod and its that old the battery dies after a couple of hours!
but think those that did charge the ipod had a stupid price tag

I am not a massive fan of Porsches but i have to say yours looks nice.
Did the induction kit make any difference other than noise?
never had it dyno'd etc but it does seem to feel a bit more urgent mid - high rpms Did the induction kit make any difference other than noise?
but I always took the BHP claims with a pinch of salt anyway
and thanks for the compliment ;-)
thanks for all the compliments guys ;-)
the stuff I used is called a scuffmaster kit from here
http://bespokeleathering.com/leathercare/buyonline
the pack I went for came with a cleaner and conditioner and the the conditioner is awesome and leaves that new leather smell for weeks!
the leather repair I went for the 250ml bottle and so far ive used half a bottle and done 3 complete interiors with it
(have the pics of the before and afters on my old motors if anyone wants to see?)
@angrydog got a few bits planned wheels refurb as have a bit of laquer peel on the lips
a nice exhaust and a private plate are my aims for the year!

got the dansk exhaust fitted today
may treat my self to some new stainless sports cats now as they are looking a bit old next to the new back boxes
and did a small before and after vid that does them no justice but you can clearly hear the sound difference

I've fitted some of the Dansk boxes to my '98 C2 too & they are perfect for what I wanted - slightly louder at idle, no droning on Motorway but a lovely howl as the revs rise.
Car looks great btw
cheers buddy which variant did you go with? Car looks great btw
I've not driven it on a motorway since so hoping there is no drone as made that mistake on my old car and motorway journeys were emotional and very anti social lol
yes I think your right on the pensioner scaring lol as I did set off an alarm or 2 yesterday
and I may be wrong but I think there is 3 versions (an oe equivalent / then the sport which is supposedly a PSE sounding equivalent / then the super pensioner scarer lol
and just had a search for your car buddy and she looks nice
did you manage to get the hartech plan transferred over?

noticed not long after fitting the new exhaust that it was blowing slightly from a slit in the exhaust flexi section (no idea if this happened in transit or while fitting or after etc) but while driving to a garage to see if this was weld able I heard it get worse and sure enough it had split all the way through
so a new section has been welded in instead of trying to bodge it back together
however now I know they are odd and its giving me ocd problems

couple more updates
1st off I know they've been fooked for a little while but finally got round to swapping out my air con condensers
and new ones fitted
and a more marmite mod that i'll test and see what I think but I liked them on my bmw so will give it a whirl
metal pressed plates
and what they look like fitted

And I'll give the short version of a recap and ignore pics of boring bushes etc and stick to main mods done
So I'm summary I've had the car about 4 years picked it up on 56k and had many smiles per miles in it
She's now on 102k so lots of smiles
One of the first mods I did was a carbon fibre intake
Next up had the usual seems splitting on the oe exhaust so fitted some dansk super sound exhausts
They are a bit loud and pretty much drown out the noise from the induction kit
And If I'm honest the flexi joints seem a very poor design and in the space of 2 years I've had to have both flexi joints replaced
Bit of a marmite mod but replaced the standard rear lights for the dectane LED's
Before
After
Still have all original pieces I've removed so if I ever change my mind it's a 2 min swap
But I especially love the look at night
And think they match the 3rd brake light better
Another marmite one I guess but decided to try a simpler look for the rear so went with the 911 only badge
Considered putting it a little lower but decided to stay true to the 996.1 placement
Decided the wheels looked a little lost in the arches so went for some 15mm spacers all around
One of the fan's decided to stop working and after a bit of forum searching found out the likely culprits were the resistors so instead of 100 odd quid for oe I went aftermarket for 10

I have a bit of a new long term vision for the car and want to make it a bit more driver focused and up the performance too with long term goal of something along the lines of the 996 csr
So 1st up was a rss under drive pulley
And in case temps did increase decided at the same time to install a LTT
Both fitted
Then fitted some rss engine mounts which I highly recommend
She was then taken to Centre of gravity to replace all worn bushes coffin arms and track rod ends and top mounts
I plan to fit some ohlins in the future but for now the m030 suspension was given the all clear for now
Latest mod was the rpm technics light weight flywheel and sprung clutch
She sounds like a bit of a tractor at idle now with the clutch out but well worth it for the performance gain imo
Well I thinks that the short version in a nutshell
Next up in no particular order
Ohlins rollovers
IPd comp plenum with gt3 tb
200 cell x pipe
And then I'm going to consider putting her on a slight diet to improve power to weight slightly
So gt3 seats
Carbon csr ducktail and bonnet
And possibly a carbon roof panel as mine has a sunroof currently
