I've been waiting a while to post in this section. My search for a 2 seater with 6 cylinders started a while back, but nothing seemed to fit my criteria of combining decent performance, sensible running costs and being relatively rare/unknown outside of PH.

I considered all sorts of things and was very close to stretching my budget (a little too far) to a Z4M Roadster. But when a Z4C in my favourite colour combination with split rim alloys popped up on eBay close to home, I jumped on it.

Plus points about this car over others I looked at are the lower-than-average miles (44k) and the previous owner has already ditched the run flats, saving me a decent amount of cash as I would have done that straight away otherwise. This being a 2007 year model, it also benefits from AUX input as standard.

Other features include Nav and optional Piano Black trim on the dash.

Can't wait to pick it up next weekend. These pictures are the seller's from the ad.

More pictures to follow once I've collected it and polished it up.

Matt

Thanks.

I'll wait and see if I can live with the clutch delay valve making gear changes slightly awkward. If not, getting it removed shouldn't be a big deal.

Its had front bushes changed from when it had a BMW AUC in 2014. Shouldn't want for much in the next 6-12 months, just a new set of tyres on the back.

Looking forward to putting a few miles on it.

That looks lovely - perfect colour combo and the engine is a peach. I wouldn't bother trying to live with the clutch delay valve - it takes about 10 minutes to take it out - the actual CDV just unclips and the hose reconnects without it - and its much nicer to drive without it.
Thanks.

I picked it up tonight as I couldn't wait until the weekend. Agreed the engine is the star performer.

How easy is the CDV delete then? Worth attempting for a novice or not?
The drive home was OK, was expecting worse. But I can see it may improve without it.

Love the colour. I am toying with one as well. The Z4m is nice, but the lack of using one, seems criminal to pay the VED it charges plus they demand quite a premium over the 3 ltr. Any of the low mileage cars seem to be snapped up by Syntners and then they add 3 grand. Just something I have been researching for now.
Great looking cars. One day, it will be in the fleet..........
I noticed this as well with Sytner.

To be honest, I set my mileage limit on searches to 70/80k. If the interior has worn well and it's been looked after, I wouldn't have minded a higher miles for a cheaper price.

Think there was one recently with north of 120k on the clock.

Thanks.

Took a few phone pictures after a quick clean. For some reason it's not letting me upload them so I'll try again later. For an 8 year old car it's not in bad shape at all.

Loving the engine, it really is the star performer in this car. It revs so freely and makes a glorious noise.

I also like the low seating position with the long bonnet out in front of you. Feel more of an event than most other comparable cars IMO.

Think I'm going to enjoy this one.

Lovely car!

Might just be the picture but that drivers seat looks like its done more than 44k miles! I had a z4 3.0 and the seats still looked well plumped and new a 80k miles and i am 17 stone!
Just took this.

It's fine, obviously not like new, but still got it's shape and plumpness! smile

OP, seems I owe you an apology. getmecoat

But when I saw you posting about a modified Lancia Beta Coupe I did start to wonder how serious you were about a Z4 Coupe!confused

However that is a lovely colour combination you have there (would probably have been my first choice but I got impatient) so I have to congratulate you on your purchase. cool

The soundtrack is wonderful - if you want a bit more volume you can remove some foam from the sound generator (unless someone has already done it)!

Anyway enjoy - my Z4C is the first car I've had for years (I am old after all) that I want to go and drive just for the sake of driving! cloud9
Cheers Iain.

I've had a quick fiddle with the sound generator pipe and it didn't budge. Gonna try again tomorrow, although I think one piece may have already been removed. We'll see.

Next bits are to go over with clay bar and give it a polish and wax.

Then get 2 new boots at the back next month.

A mate came round in his Sepang S3. Colours are very similar.

Removed larger piece of foam from the bulkhead end of the pipe.

Sound isn't massively different, but slightly louder past 5k rpm. All the better for it!

Justin, just seen a grey one has surfaced on AutoTrader with low miles. I'm in no way affiliated to the seller, just thought I'd let you know in case you are in the market now.

Cheers Matt. Would love to be there now, but will sell my Focus ST privately and then go looking. I'll still have a look at it on Autotrader. Problem is, when I drive my ST, its so good, I cant bring myself to sell it. Wish I could keep it and have the Z4 er........ and a Westfield again !
No probs smile

Lovely motor with a great engine

I had a couple of these but roadsters, the older 3.0SMG and a Z4M in Bronze.

Now I have nippers and recently purchased a 130i with a long list of options fitted. It's a great all rounder and rear doors are a must for me. Very nearly went for the 330i N52 but nothing around with a decent spec and manual gearbox when I purchased.

You might discover the Z4 has a noisy clutch release bearing when engine is hot - don't worry they all do it!
.
Thanks John.

Not heard anything so far but I will keep an eye out.

I did look at 130is as well, but thought I would be selfish while I still can and go for 2 seats. The engine is a peach however.
