I've seen a few projects like this on the likes of passion ford amazing build.
How is it held together if the car was in a big shunt how does the body remain fixed to the floor?
Its constructed no differently to any other car, the strength is in its design and shape all seem welded, its stronger than a Escort because of the Sierra pan fitted from back too front, also you would be surprised how near everything fits between Escort to Sierra, Also what surprises a lot is the fact the interior is from a Mondeo ST, electric adjustable and heated of Corse How is it held together if the car was in a big shunt how does the body remain fixed to the floor?

Blake, what interior has the car? any pictures, how often do you use it?
Full black leather interior from the Mondeo, (very comfy) I use the car as much as I can in the summer months, I will be out and about tomorrow for probably the last time this year:-( done the Lakes tour this year with the car and got a very mixed reaction from the woolly hat brigade they just could not get their heads round it StuntmanMike said:
Brilliant Blake, almost standard looking.
A big pet hate of mine is when people put things in like a digital dash, and other such tacky cack.
Again the idea was to keep it looking old skool, but its far from it, one of the most difficult thing I done was the dash, if you look closely you will see the clocks are actually from the Mondeo but still look like the iconic six pot dash from the Mk1 A big pet hate of mine is when people put things in like a digital dash, and other such tacky cack.

ah the monscort. an amazing build. i prefer your mk1 mexico though . my names dan by the way. i'm stu and ema's friend. the special one in the wheelchair. i'm sure you've heard of me.
yip I've heard of you and will finally meet up at the wedding. The Mex is a good period car and goes well, but it's a reminder of how far we have come in transport i.e. Motorways the Mex hates them, but the Mon is very exciting car you can have the best of both driving experiences as it's a mix of old but up to date drive train and just loves a Motorway, see you soon Hi
just picked up your post, the full build of this car is as far removed from a Mk Escort you'l get, but for the record its running a MT75 gearbox onto a Sierra back axle from a Cosworth the engine is from Mondeo 2.5 V6 then Supercharged, all fitted to a Sierra floor pan, that's the shorted version, all I will say, it's a hell of a car

Fantastic work - that looks epic!
May I ask - was there much work (ie: a new or modded bellhousing) to fit the gearbox (MT75 - from a RWD sierra, IIRC) to the Duratec (from a Mondeo, where it would've been FWD and mounted sideways), or did the 'box just bolt straight on..? Only ask as planning a build/mod to a kit car myself which is sierra/granny running gear, and a Duratec replacement would be great (ie: from an ST220), but I've worried about how much it might end up costing to mate the FWD engine into a RWD set-up..
Thanks!
Sorry for the late reply been off line since October 16 long story and moved house and garage. however did you get your project going? to answer your question about the adaption to the MT75 was relatively easy to do, but then I am an engineer with all tooling and materials to hand May I ask - was there much work (ie: a new or modded bellhousing) to fit the gearbox (MT75 - from a RWD sierra, IIRC) to the Duratec (from a Mondeo, where it would've been FWD and mounted sideways), or did the 'box just bolt straight on..?
