Tomorrow is the day, totally surreal really. I had the Tillett seats fitted as an option which delayed and made things more expensive! I cant wait to hear that supercharger again smile

Ohhh - very nice sir, I´m not jealous, not in the f... slightest...! Excellent tyre choice there, much better than the shoite on the one in the image in your first post:P
wink

I bought the car with one set of std wheels and a set of Dymags. Guessing neither will last so well!

11 hrs to go, not that I'm counting.

I saw that, heroic drive back! I wimped out and had it delivered. It's sureal having it in the garage, it's the first car that i actually stare at. The more you look the more you see, the detailing is superb. Honestly, it's just the coolest thing.

Off for some cycling for two weeks tomorrow but hopefully I'll get out in it upon my return.

I see by your photo`s that you have been down my neck of the woods. visited Hazelbury mill for a cream tea and the Atom workshop for a new toy.
Amazing piece of design and engineering.
Done you face photo`s like Clarkson yet?
Absolutely, great place that, wonderful area. Still out in Tenerife back soon though.

Finally had an opportunity to escape the garage in the Atom. It's an awesome thing. Need some time on the dampers I think as it's harsher than standard. The 3.5 feels (in my brief experience) better than the 3, the front end seems to have more feel and overall it feels more composed. I'll never get bored of the induction noise, it's epic. As is watching the bell cranks doing their stuff and the tarmac flying past underneath you. Looking forward to some properly warm and dry weather now smile

An early birthday treat for myself, a sports exhaust. The standard one is far, far to restrained for the Atom. Fitting time, about 5 mins and then a brief test in the garage. Genuinely amusing noise. Next on the list is some music, specifically a pair of UE Boom 2's.

Looking forward to meeting up with the sevens at the weekend biggrin

It's been a fun few weeks, sunshine means getting out and about!

The suspension, which I felt was always a bit off has seen big improvements. Fully adjustable dampers are great things to have, but human nature is to mess with things you don't understand. After speaking to the Intrax factory I put it all back to default. It turns out it was set with no high (bump) or low (chassis) speed compression damping yet zero rebound. It squirmed a lot and was soft, yet all over the place on bumps. The new setup is much better, all there is left to do is to back off the spring preload, I can't be bothered with right now as tbh as it's just so much better..too busy driving.

Treated myself to a new Helmet and some Bose earphones, first test tomorrow. Rear tyres are coming to the end as well, I guess another pair of 888's before a complete set of 48's

Goodwood the other weekend..

Couple of other things on the go with it but i'll leave that 'til next time.

Cheers matey. Early start today for a quick drive out. It's really intersting the differences between se7ens and the Atom, they deliver the exact same thing but are chalk and cheese in the way they go about it. The new lid seemed to attract more attention than ever and contained within a pair of Bose QC20 headphones, they are the absolute tits, against the driver, who is singular. A little bit of music and the nc switched on makes for a very pleasant experience actually. Today when Ash 'lose control' came on I found myself back in the 90's sat on the sofa trying to wrestle a Skyline round the Deep Forest Raceway biggrin

I can't seem to get enough of the car at the moment and the more I drive it the more it gets under my skin. Had a few genuinely lol moments today, nothing terrible just a by product of loads of power in a light car with no safety net. The M3 is up for sale, a barge will replace it as I just cannot get excited by the uber saloon after the little Atom.

Sorely, very sorely tempted to upgrade to 3.5R spec at the end of the year as no matter much power you have, too much is never enough biggrin

Lastly, a Bentley blower was leaving a local showground and we gave each other a thumbs up, this is either deeply 'beard' or very cool. I will claim the latter smile

Awesome car. As someone with serious OCD issues it really appeals - the purity of the design but with incredible attention to detail.

COngrats and please keep posting.
Here you go....

Can't wait to get back to the UK and drive the damn thing again!

...and a couple from a recent meet with some se7ens

I love the last one, it's so much wider than a Caterham, traffic calming is much tighter on the wheels laugh

Minor update. Installed a CTEK quick connector so that I don't have to remove the bodywork to stick it on charge.

In other news the little Atom seems to be attracting the local boy racers biggrin

Next plan is a TomTom Rider vx and bottle holder. The seats could also do with covers tbh. Anyway, after a few weeks away it didn't disappoint, it's not the fastest (overall) but fun, lots of that biggrin

Love this. I'd love to drive one or do an experience day of some sort to see what all the hype is about with these.

I expect you find that it turns heads everywhere? Good or bad?
It gets more attention than anything I have driven before. Pictures, videos with folk hanging out of car windows and always a question or two at the petrol station. Filling up at the weekend a bunch of bikers with trikes and viking helmets turned into 7 year old kids around it, there's little of the bhiness (whatever) that goes on when someone owns a Ferrari etc, it's not that sort of car.

Until a month ago I would say it was universally popular but in London I had a guy dressed in a Chelsea shirt call shout 'you fking ' from the pavement and more recently a group of youths, in a battered Polo hanging out the window screaming 'wker' at the top of their lungs. Apart from those mental cases all good.

It's especially cool when kids are interested, requests to 'rev it mate' are generally accommodated, as are those who want to sit in it, hopefully they will turn out to be the next generation of enthusiasts? A bloke tripped over himself walking backwards with his phone the other day, no damage done but... wink

However, the best times are turning up on the school run. I was a bit gutted to never have taken my daughter for a spin in the Caterham before I sold it. She's getting used to the acceleration now and cracks up laughing at 'fireball', that's what it's all about biggrin

So a bit of a wake up call today. Ventured out and had a pretty good time, until crossing a roundabout I was probably a bit brutal with it. Good laugh with a Panigale, never going to win that one but a quick thumbs up.

All the stories about Atom's being a right handful haven't really struck a chord with me and I was starting to wonder if it wasn't all a bit benign. Being quite sideways without really expecting caught me out, more than likely diesel as the roundabout was next to the station. Time to be a bit more respectful. bd thing. biggrin

With the 'summer' now upon us the Atom is coming into its own. Polo shirt and jeans heading out for a drive for no good reason, a tank of fuel to waste return at dusk. With a few more drives under my belt I am getting more comfortable with the dynamics. Don't get me wrong, it is always a bit odd, and if you aren't confident with the throttle at speed then it really lets you know, that's fine, I like straight talking cars. A recent trip with some se7ens confirmed how mental they are, despite a huge power advantage I am ever more aware that familiarity and the size of your plums are the lion share of the advantage either way.

A visit to the Ace Cafe for 'Honda 60th' was, erm, different. 4 or 5 Civics, pair of Clio's and a Passat, the power of dreams, maybe not. On the journey back I was joined by an EX with an enormous snail. No doubt the journey down the A40 is on some hotst website now with how an Atom got 'pwn3d', truth is, I wasn't really bothered. However, as a former mod on HT I have seen several 500HP EX builds and know not to bother with a drag car biggrin

Bedford is coming soon, that's good.

Better, is I am almost convinced I want to upgrade the car to 3.5R spec. I have always liked the pods and the extra urgency at the top just makes me smile. It's already way OTT on the road, but the alternative is another motorcycle, and that's a really bad idea for everyone.

The photos above, of Atoms parked in pub car parks and country roads... parked alongside Caterhams etc, just makes the Atom look EVEN MORE "space age" and cutting edge, while making the other kit cars look even more dated! smile It's such a striking and extraordinary vehicle!

Do you plan to take it to many track events?
That's been the plan all year, unfortunately life has got in the way a little. Bedford is looking like a good option next month.
