I've been on the hunt for a decent WRX for ages now, I was in no rush so patiently waited for a decent, unmolested one to turn up. And it did - 81k, only one previous owner and well looked after. I was sold! The dealer knew his Scoobies and there was a rather tasty Forester STI sitting there, too. thumbup

And so, I chopped in my old GX Sport for it. I'll miss that car, however it was dog slow, but was still a nice car. Bullet proof too, I'll happily buy another N/A Impreza in the future if I need to.

The changeover day...

Yes, I know, I could have at least washed it, whoops.

So after a fun drive home, I couldn't resist mucking about with it already. I didn't like the orange indicator lenses and the orange side markers, so they were the first to go.
I've also bought it a new set of mats and a new gearknob - as the old one was looking a bit tired.
I'm also keeping all OEM parts I take off it.

How she looks now..

And the all important smiley..

This weekend's job should be the installation of a top and lower Zunsport mesh grill and oil/filter change. smile

How are you finding it against your old one?
Apart from being turbo charged, it's very similar when driving off-boost around town. The full shove comes in at around 2700RPM, which is great fun. The N/A Impreza was still good fun to have a blast down a B-road, it just lacked speed. It was still very grippy and chuckable, surprisingly.

I've discovered a tiny leak in the boot when needs addressing, but it's not too bad at all. I know the usual places to look from the other one.

Thread revival! I wanted to update anyway...

Just before Christmas, this happened -

Sorry for the crap pic.
One of Santa's finest decided to run at me frown I did turn around when I could, no sign of the deer, I hope it was ok.
But it's going into the bodyshop next week for a new wing, it managed to push the wing in, up and out. The one plus side to this, is that rust was starting to bubble up on the top of the arch anyway. Oh deer.

In other news, I've installed a zunsport top and bottom grill. Like my previous blobeye, I've always wonder why Subaru never put any form of lower grill to protect the radiator?

New badge too hehe

And a new header tank, I try to keep the bay clean too, but not to OCD levels.

Refurbished headlights, came up quite well - just a 3M kit from ebay.

It's just ticked over to 90k, so will giving it a full service soon.

Upcoming plans...
> All round disc and pad refresh, infact that's coming up after the new wing.
> Wheels refurb, I want to keep the OEM wheels, but get the tarted up and resprayed in a darker Anthracite.
> Get it on track at Brands biggrin
