So the brief for a change of car was something bigger and faster, coming from a diesel A1 I've ticked both boxes. Actual spec is 2.0 Turbo SRI Nav, 70,000m, FVSH and 1 owner. I thought it was really well looked after and was pleased to find one as these are rare beasts. Picked it up around a month ago now and had a nice drive from Bournemouth to London on the way home. After only having it a week we drove to Scotland for a half term getaway. It munched all the 1800 odd miles it done that week, whether it was cruising on the motorway or blasting down the beautiful Scottish A roads. It's so understated no one realises the power there its already embarrassed a few people.

I've got a few plans, I need to fit rear parking sensors. Coming from an A1 that had them I can't really live without them now. Will also need a new set of mats as I realised it only came with 2. The paint has a lot of swirling so I will have to sort this out while the weather is still nice. Further down the line I would like to a HID conversion on the headlights and a possible remap.

Anyway enough gassing here are some pictures of it when we were in Scotland

blearyeyedboy - It Loved the Scottish B roads, it made very light work of them even when fully loaded with the family and a full boot. Some of the smaller roads it felt a bit big but I guess thats to be expected of car of this size.

Very nice. And a saloon too! That is rare.

How are you finding the mpg? I've heard they can be a bit hard on fuel.
Yeah they are rare when I was searching I had like a handful to choose from. The MPG is exactly what I was suspecting. The trip computer has average 26.6 over the 70K miles. We were getting about 480 miles to tank on the trip which is about 30mpg. Around town and when driving briskly it drops to around 20mpg.

Nice choice mate. Exactly how mine looked when I first got it. Would definitely recommend a remap, really impressive figures. Any questions give me a nudge.

Cheers mate, I had a little look into a remap I was seeing about 270HP, how much does that cut the 0-60 dash down to?

I definitely need to get rear parking sensors fitted, I really do miss them, Any recommendations?

Love the wheels on yours will have a look into a set when the tyres need replacing.

Stumbled across a couple of these while browsing for fast saloons on auto trader just now. Seems like a lot of car for the money, and I bet it shocks people who assume it's your standard diesel repmobile!

I had one as a courtesy car a while back, it was a 1.8 petrol which was absolutely gutless and awful, but I really was impressed with the car. Comfortable, well equipped, and I think they look good. The rear visibility I found poor so don't blame you for fitting parking sensors.
It's defo shocked a few people since I've had it because its the ultimate Q car in my eyes anyway.

They are nicely equipped, it has nav, auto lights & cruise. Coming from an Audi as well I was a bit suspect on the interior, but its won me over completely. Big comfy seats, arm rest and very refined, very commutable car to eat up the miles.

So little thread update, I did end up getting rear parking sensors back in the summer and i'm very happy with them.

I have had this can of plasti dip hanging around for months but just haven't found the time to actually use it. What I wanted to do is tone down the exterior as I'm not to keen on all the chrome. So I tested out the strip across the boot earlier

All masked and ready to go

Afterwards

I was very happy with the outcome so I am aiming to do the rest of the car Saturday.

I also had a PH sticker which has been hanging around for a while too, so I put that on today. I thought it was a black sticker on a white background but there is no background so you can hardly see it, think I will order a different color to replace this one.
