Freelander 2 Dynamic

Just picked this up today. Its for my wife who had a Merc coupe before which she loves, but we decided to get a dog so it was a bit unsuitable. She fancied having a higher driving position but rejected the proposal of a transit (same height as an SUV right ?) so when I spotted this on AT in Newport I thought it was worth a look. It was at Wessex Garages (kia) who had taken it in in part-ex.
2014, 34K miles but with FLRSH (high mileage I know but my wife is at home and does about 5-6K a year so in the long run it's immaterial) and to be honest we plan to keep this until it dies. The fact it still had a years manufacturer warranty left and an offer of 0% finance sealed it for me so I was well happy with the deal I got.
Plans are to swap the LR badges to black ones (don't like the Green), swap the projector halogens to xenons (and get the CCF adjusted) and fit a reversing camera.

Cheers. I got home and went for a short drive in it last night.
Thoughts are: the steering is very light indeed takes some getting used to. It's quite a bouncy ride, but it's very comfortable..potholes simply don't exist !
It goes OK actually, more than able to keep up with traffic and not as agricultural sounding as some reports said it would be.
Infotainment - baffling ! Much reading of the manual required
Love the raised driving position, it's all country lanes round here so being a bit higher pays off in terms of seeing what's coming up. It's not that wide either so no issues with tight passes. The seats are lovely and along with the armrest gives you a very relaxed driving position...like that a lot.
All in all I'm liking it so far..but those badges have to go !

While at it, decided to give the car a good going over so I : snowfoamed/Washed/Clayed/Machine polished it (Menzerna). Then added a couple of coats of Bilt-Hamber Auto Balm, AG Vinyl care on the arches and broke out the trusty autosol and wire wool for the exhaust.
She's looking good now !
