My First Hot Hatch - Suzuki Swift Sport
Discussion
Hi all,
This month saw the purchase of my new car, a 2014 Suzuki Swift Sport. I am now 18 and decided to sell my Toyota Aygo for something that had a bit more POWER! I bought the car from a dealership in Telford. I really wanted the car in boost blue metallic as I think it is the best colour. I saw this one for sale, that was within my price range, so I went to look at it and was near perfect so I bought it!
Anyway here are the pictures:
I absolutely love the car. Their is enough power when you need it and feels a lot quicker than what the numbers suggest. It has a brilliant chassis meaning virtually no body roll, and fantastic handling.
The only mod I have fitted is a K&N air filter. I don't have any further mods planned for it due to the warranty however, I may look into an induction kit or a different exhaust later down the line. For now though, I'm just going to enjoy the car, with a trip to wales definitely on the cards.
Thanks for looking.

Looks great! I bought my Swift Sport in April, absolutely loving life with it. Like you, I set out for a boost blue but couldn't find any of the right age/miles/price at the time, so settled for black!
I've also got a K&N filter arriving soon for it, but I've had a look at the manual and I can't work out how to fit it (bear in mind I have less than zero mechanical knowledge/ability!) - is it easy to fit?
I wouldn't say easy! You have to remove the screws you see and remove the clips at the back of the engine cover and slowly work it off.I've also got a K&N filter arriving soon for it, but I've had a look at the manual and I can't work out how to fit it (bear in mind I have less than zero mechanical knowledge/ability!) - is it easy to fit?

I picked up a Sport just over three weeks back and absolutely love it. Was going to start my own thread but may as well tag on to this one.
I was looking to replace my Civic for ages and considered all sorts. Believe it or not, the only other car I got seriously close to buying was an RS Megane, 250 flavour. No regrets whatsoever though, absolutely loving the Swift, not a single complaint. Nice to drive (seats and gearbox are superb), fun to drive (engine revs like a winner), cheap to drive (44.6mpg at the minute, 900 miles in, mostly the dear stuff). And not had a problem with space either, had four of us down to Manchester for a couple of nights without a bother. If anything, the boot is perfect for going shopping as you don't open up to find your frozen sausages thrown all over the boot, nice and compact.
No plans for any mods, just keep it mechanically and cosmetically sound. I've given the first wash and wax this afternoon, was planning to see how dirty I could get it but couldn't resist a good clean in the sun.
Also to the OP, I watched your videos on YT before getting mine and you're probably half the reason I was convinced to get one, a lot of good info in your videos so thanks.
Here's a picture post-wash. I've used my Instagram picture so save on file size. Also check out my other half's 1.2 in the background which is also an awesome car.
I'm glad that my YT videos helped with your decision. I can't think of a better car for the money. Enjoy it.I was looking to replace my Civic for ages and considered all sorts. Too nice of a day yesterday. Went out for an afternoon drive. Roads were lovely and quiet. Still love the car and looking forward for the new 1.4 Turbo to come out, hopefully see a few knocking about.
Great pictures. Yes I'm looking forward to the new 1.4 turbo. It could be an upgrade in the future.chillbill said:
Have driven both. To me the Swift felt very much more grown up/smart both exterior and interior wise. The Fiesta is just a bit more yobbish Both handle well but engines are a world apart, as you would expect (NA vs T). The Swift also does without any torque vectoring, etc. and is really an oldschool hatch in a good sense. But I guess for day to day driving the torquey nature of the Fiesta would be better and the Recaros are indeed sublime, if you fit in them. But do try both and see for yourself.
