Got this last week and very happy with it. From someone who used to very much dislike the TT when they were first launched.

Nogaro blue is a favourite colour of mine, until recently I was unaware is was a special order on the Mk1 TT, usually only reserved for S and RS models, which got me researching into Mk1 TT's and then ultimately buying this example.

I must say, the experience of actually driving this car couldn't be further removed from the expectation I had of them them from the motor journalists at the time.

Here are the seller's pictures, I've now removed the spats...

Thanks for the positive replies

Its had a bit of tweeking, suspension and a forge motorsport remap (not sure what brand of software forge use its not in the paperwork and i dont think the develop their own)

Also had 3 documented cambelt changes while still only on 113k! 7 Brake fluid changes also!

The spoiler extension and honeycomb valence are 3.2 items.

To be honest i still see a few mk1s and wince at the bad mods or rough condition. I see they are being broken in large numbers too, which for it to be any kind of desirable classic is a good thing.

I bought this for 2.2k including delivery from london to glasgow. Only bit of rust ive found is a broken bubble on the inside of the rear hatch.

Sorry, just checked in and can see I've had some replies.

All is going well with my first month of ownership, I haven't even started looking for my next car yet so it's already going better than my last ten or so cars. I'm really enjoying owning, driving and generally just giving it admiring glances.

The fact that all servicing is up to date and it needs nothing mechanically has meant a bit of head scratching.

Turns out nogaro was a £2750 option, Ay, caramba!

Anyway with nothing to do I went to get the wheels balanced, just because, and it turns out one of the wheels is cracked so that will give me food for thought.

Been looking at these a lot recently with intention of building one into a safe track car for my wife as she won't drive the noble lol... I'm trying to get my head around the difference between the 225 and V6.... Is the V6 as tuneable as the 225?
No not at all, this has had a simple forge remap and is already at 260bhp. The v6 sounds great, well it did in my old r32, but it's heavy and very restricted tuning wise unless you want to spend thousands on f.i.

Still enjoying the TT.

The BBS wheels were really bugging me. The ch are a great design and suit the mk1, but these are replicas... I hate fake stuff. The quality is always questionable.

The car had a rough ride and I blamed it on the ebaich springs. Feeling ever bump in the road.

Well it turns out it wasn't the road that was the problem but the wheels.

I mentioned earlier about the crack in one of them here it is

Ideally I'd have liked to replace the wheels with a genuine set of ch's, buying a new set would have cost almost as much as the car, so I decided to see what I could get used.

I found some great wheels at a great price with some useable Ad08's.

Compomotive TH 1880

So this is how she looks at the moment. I must say I quite like them but I'm sure some may prefer the bbs

The rough ride has improved greatly. And all speed shakes disappeared totally.

Staying strong so far, although it has only been 3 days hehe
Yours look nice, I don't know if it applies to the 180 but I've just rang audi about an outstanding recall on the coil packs and they've booked it in to replace them. ...

I'm happy with the centre caps :-)

just bought some defcon bush inserts to reverse the dumbing down Audi did in 2000

Il replace the other bush and ball joints with standard items when the wishbones are off.

Yes mate

I knew about the coil recall though was just ringing to see if it had been done

0800 699888

I wonder if they will still do the recall for the spoiler / wishbones / adding the counter weights / dsc ....

Very nice. Keep it standard (at least visually).

I really liked the OP's car initially, but now with blue body, black wheels and red centre caps, it's spoilt. No cohesion. Sorry OP.
No need to be sorry, I respect your opinion. Although it's only a set of wheels, which replaced wonky replicas :-)

Well, still enjoying it.
The rd08's have been replaced by some rainsport 3s which provide a much more compliant ride for the road.

It's had a haldex service, brake fluid change and steering fluid change at Audi whilst in for the coilpack recall.

The seats lack lumber adjustment and a 600m 24hr round trip left me in agony. It doesn't help the padding seams to have flattened from a previous lardy owner.

So I've just bought some new seats which should be in keeping with the car but actually provide support.

Also added the obligatory, grown up boy racer, metal plates

Nice car.
Seats will be nice. Although again no adjustment in support. I find mine very comfortable for 450 miles in one day.
Thanks, I slouch and I find the poles prevent that. Not so great for short trips about though!

Really nice car. I wouldn't expect those Compomotives to suit it, but they really look great.

I never thought I'd be so enthusiastic about a TT!
Thanks, I'm suprising myself to be honest with this car, I remember the 18 year old me chasing the first TTs down with disgust in my Citroen of the time

Love the seats, are you going to delete the rears or leave them in situ? As I assume you can't get anyone in the back anymore if they have no tilt/slide?

I'm still loving my Mk1 TT, not done any mods yet though smile
They are on runners and slide forward
The rear seats are still as useless as they are with standard seats. I'm not going to delete them tho as all the diy jobs look awful and the kit seems to go for 1k plus when available. No thanks!

Well it's been dry ish and I've had an hour free.
So thought I'd set about removing the 16kg counterweight / harmonic damper / whateveritisidontwantit, part of audis after thought after the original tt's were thought to be to lively.

Will give me a good chance to clean behind there too

Everything was free and easy, for a 16 year old car I was quite pleased

Nice narrow plastic sleeves wheel sockets were a xmas present

Bumper off, bit dirty

Bumper support off showing the 16kg weight

Everything off ready for a clean, probably will be tomorrow now as ran out of time
