Unfortunately, it's not a 700 BHP four door Mercedes. frown

It's, as my colleagues have put it, 'a rollerskate'. biggrin

Basically, the wife said she'd like a little car. She doesn't really drive a lot (she's driven twice in the last 7 years, and has only ever driven a vauxhall corsa) as she commutes to work by train, but that's become a bit more difficult on sundays plus with her own car she'd be less dependant on me picking her up etc.

She likes her friends Smart fortwo Diesel number and wanted something similar. I suggested a 500 Abart convertible but that was 'too big' so it had to be a Smart.
Obviously being a petrolhead i wasn't too keen on the diesel so we've gone for something sportier.

It's a 2013 Fortwo with Brabus pack, and has about done 26K miles. It's the 1.0 turbo version, which apperently has about 98 - 102 bhp.

But as they're turbocharged they're easy to map and it's booked in with a Smart specialist who said it'll have about 114 - 116 bph and more torque when he's done with it, and i'll have a rollingroad printout before and after. Spoke to a few people in a Smart facebook group who've gone down that route and they're all very pleased with it.

It can be driven in full auto mode (she wanted an automatic) but it also has flappy Paddles behind the wheel and i must admit, i quite like driving it with the Paddles. driving

Electric windows & roof, A/C, heated seats, cruise control and touch screen sat nav make it not a bad little car for £ 6.000,

Handeling wise, because of the short wheelbase it doesn't handle overly great in corners at speed, so it's not a car i'd take for a spin along some country lanes, but to pop to town (easy parking!) and visit some friends with the roof down on a warm sunny day like today is great.

Just been out for a little drive to take some pictures in the sun :

The pillars above the door windows come off, and are stored in the boot :

We've had the patch of grass on the front of the house converted (by a fellow PH member) into a bit of driveway, that suits the Smart perfectly :
