Porsche 912 1966

I've bought this from a friend who spent a good lick of money restoring this, It's surprised me with how much fun this car is.
It's not a full on restoration in the fact that it's more along the lines of an Outlaw version of original car to which it has the actual seats from Magnus Walkers 1969 outlaw which is a nice touch, so the carbs have been replaced with twin Dellorto carbs a big bore kit cams with other mods sees it producing 110.4bhp along with new & improved suspension components it handles very sweetly.
It turns out it's a one of Forty made in Silber & one of twenty five with the dog leg five speed box & it's a rare Three Dial Car to the list of work that was carried out was extensive new floor inner/outer seals rear bulkhead etc.
It's got the original wheels, a set of Fuch alloys & the Minilites you see on it now, I like it's purity of this car I'm not sure how long I'm going keep it as I do like my BHP but it's nice to walk into the garage & look at it.
The photos aren't in order but it gives an idea of the extensive work that was carried out on this car, I like it so it'll be staying a while the downside is I'm going to have to get a bigger garage.

That is gorgeous. I hired a 912 for the weekend after my wedding. Did about 300 miles in up the west coast of Scotland. LHD as well. Was overfuelling and ended up blowing the silencer off. Great fun!
It's spitting back through the carbs at the moment which is giving the Bursch exhaust a hard time so another dyno session is on the cards it does run well with 80mph an easy figure to sit at more is available but the short gearing means it's revving high at 90-95mph. Tinkshusband said:

That sounds like a fun conversion but on something like this one where everything is matching numbers & the rarity of the car I couldn't do it, but on a later 70's 912 this would make a great conversion especially with the 991 using a flat 4 turbo how long before a crashed one turns up at a breakers.

I took the car out for another run yesterday & I think the rear bushes are starting to wear so that's a job to get sorted, also the xenon upgrade to the headlamps are superb it made driving in the dark a breeze.
I am enjoying this cars simplicity I'm not going park this up just yet I think I'll enjoy it a bit more until there's talk of the gritters coming out.
So I think I'll get new bushes & shocks once I park it up.
