Still can't believe rear parking sensors aren't standard on a £35,000 car though!!
Because Audi. It's a superb looking car and I bet it goes damn well also. Lovely!

Is that the grey people call primer grey? The lighter version? I saw one near us last night, sounded very fruity... my Mrs liked the colour anyway! This too was a 5 door, very new and shiny... enjoy OP
Dunno... it's official title is nano-grey - it is very shiny so not matt in the slightest - i imagine when it's dirty it'd look quite dull..stewies_minion said:

Arrived Monday 31/10...
Nano-Grey with no options..
Still getting used to it - will do a proper write up soon.
Do us a favour fella?Nano-Grey with no options..

Those vents want aligning the temperatures changes to either 20.0 or 22.0.
Pics required to aid sleeping patterns. There's a pal.
BTW, what's up with poor 21 ?

ROFL! I thought you couldnt be serious, turns out its true. The thing is, theyll carry on doing it as they can clearly get away with it.
Nice car OP, be careful reversing!

Mine doesn't do that... i am (almost) disappointed ?
Lucky you, I leap out in the dark as quickly as possible to avoid anyone seeing it.The main question however, have you tried the launch control yet?
Launch control - no... is it the same as the R?
Wait for it to warm up
all traction systems completely off
Gearbox in sport.
left foot heavy on the brake
right foot flat down on the throttle
revs will hold automatically at around 4500rpm
Release Brake..
Smile lots?

took it out in the pouring rain yesterday, very planted, very solid.
Another few observations
traction control lets you have 'more fun' before kicking in than the R - pulled out of a t-junction with TC fully engaged and the back came right out on half throttle - no flashing lights, no intervention..
When on motorways, doing a fairly decent speed and you floor it (kickdown) the exhaust kinda farts and there is a good second delay before the gearbox shifts down and then some lag.... seems better if you dont mash it all the way - this is car in dynamic and gearbox in S. - JD have you experienced this?

I honestly reckon the saloon S3 looks miles better than the sportback.
OP, do they have the same kind of lease deals on the saloon as they do on the hatch?
I hate the saloon - although ive just seen some pics of the new RS3 saloon which looks very pretty...OP, do they have the same kind of lease deals on the saloon as they do on the hatch?
with regard to the question - no, the saloon doesn't seem to be included on the good deals..

i have had a look under mine and i 'just' have the puddle lights.
Also, weirdly, i don't appear to have the handwriting MMI wheel - there are no options or prompts to input anything on there...
The touch sensitive dial is part of the tech pack. Also, weirdly, i don't appear to have the handwriting MMI wheel - there are no options or prompts to input anything on there...
It also seems not all facelifts have been supplied with the Audi rings and quattro puddle lights, some early builds got the pre-facelift standard puddle lights.
p.s. great colour.
really annoying.
Steering wheel control - right hand side, you push the phone button which brings up your call history in the middle display, you then attempt to scroll through using the thumb wheel on the same pod. this, naturally, turns down the radio rather than scrolls through the numbers.
its the thumbwheel on the left hand side that scrolls through the numbers. 2 hands needed for what should just be one.

PP - you came from a Golf R right? Why the change?
I'm in an R at the moment and it goes well but I'm finding the ride harsh (no dcc - d'oh!) and the build quality iffy - any thoughts?
Cheers
the change was primarily because the R was on a lease and i fancied something different.I'm in an R at the moment and it goes well but I'm finding the ride harsh (no dcc - d'oh!) and the build quality iffy - any thoughts?

I found both build quality and ride ok in my R - do you have the optional 19's on yours?

I did start with 19s but swapped to 18s - it helped a bit but I still find it harsh over rough surfaces (ie 70% of the time round our way!). Fully accept I may be in the minority here and accusations of 'soft old fart' are warranted! I found both build quality and ride ok in my R - do you have the optional 19's on yours?
Main issue is the vibration coming into the cabin which triggers a multitude of rattles and creaks - this is bugging me. I'd guess the S3 would be better?
so my summary won't really help - it feels like a better ride but i have a squeak i didn't have in the R.
Lastly, for the record - i am 42 so could also be accused of being a soft old fart
