What can I say...had 13 miles on it when I picked it up from the PDI centre yesterday.

Bright white and clean in the sun. I had ordered dynamic grey which is like a dull white but that colour had expired. dealer apologised massively a few weeks back and has sent £750 rebate. result. its only a 2 year lease so can change out soon enough.

Its quick...really punchy and still running it in for 600 miles. still getting used to the modes of comfort, sport and Cupra. sport and then cupra makes the exhaust louder, suspension & steering harder and raises the power. Cupra is the highest setting.

Great quality and the price is bonkers for a £157 per month on the lease for a £32k car.

Loads of options from heated bucket seats with alcantara , folding mirrors, nav, USB, Bluetooth, really fast and close box, Slippy diff, Xenons and those follow the road lights etc. 19 inch rims on decent tyres, big brakes.

Basically a golf R but without the 4wd. Most come of the factory with near on 300 bhp

Cold and slippy out there but it feels stable and grippy.

lots to learn about it and to enjoy but a cracking daily.

thanks all.

I meant the snotter in jest. its a lovely car, quick, really well made, I like the interior, lovely quick manual box and love the seats and its new. before this we had an Audi Q5 diesel for 7 years as the family sofa which was a great car, reliable, cheap to run, economical, great in the alps on winter tyres etc. no fun though and it was getting leggy but owed me nothing.

I wanted sth smaller, more fun and cheap to run as the daily.

the wheels look a lot better in the flesh. crap phone pics. will be a pig to clean but that is what you get with the black edition.

LEDs not Xenons. correction noted. they do follow the direction which car is pointing so great for dark lanes and corners.

£2k down as deposit. usual on a new car and in fact less than dealers.

10k miles per year which is fine for me as use the train for work half of the week.

you just hand it back at the end of the term and get another one. not get out costs (only if you do this before the end of the 24 months - that is leasing!) I can extend if I want to

company is www.vehiclesavers.com. they have some great bargains. the Golf R is going for a song right now as is the estate version.

I was lucky with timing as had been watching for a while. I knew Seat were doing a facelift and as someone said before they dealers have stock they want to shift. I looked at the facelift and hardly any difference. small power uplift to 300 bhp and its only software mods.

apparently if you breathe on the 290 version lightly you can easily get them to 350/360 bhp which would be a riot ;-)

not everyone's cuppa I know nor is leasing but works for me right now and going to have a blast am sure.

yep black edition so you get the black mirrors, black edition wheels and exterior trim bits plus the bucket seats and a few other bits.

I would personally prefer 18s as I think manufactures are oversizing wheels for looks in favour of ride and handling plus bigger wheel = more weight (apart from BBS or team dynamics etc = non oem) 18s would go over the 340mm discs and callipers so maybe use some 18s for winter tyres if I need to.

I like the team dynamics 1.2 race wheels in 18s and if I owned it I would swap them out and sell the 19s.

I think the zero despot deals were more like £250/260 per month which puts an extra £100 per month on the PCM which is £2400 over 2 years so its there or there abouts. dealers aren't stupid and they find ways to get their ££

2pad that is a really nice car and colour combo. its looks even more under-stated and calm than the white. that will surprise a few.

yeah contis are not great tyres but have seen them with Pirellis which are even worse. Cup2 would be a good choice but extreme. maybe the Michelin super sport? once they are a bit worn I will change mine. keep the contis with some tread on them for when I hand the car back and its needs to have some ok tyres on it.

I would wait for the 300 face lift to calm down a bit as vehicle savers and the dealers will reduce their rates to shift the stock.

as said before its worth watching from time to time as these crazy deals just pop up and you have to commit.

those VW golf R deals seem to be long gone now. I was hearing deals of £200 per month all in with 8-10k miles. crazy money for a cracking daily A-B riot car.

1k miles in and its great fun. some dryer weather has been great for traction with the tuning box added. the front tyres are certainly getting scrubbed but the rears still look like new. have been told these engines do get better and better so looking forward to that.

am going to put a small front splitter on it and the performance pack side skirts on it as will finish off the car. I really hate looking at those side sills. only complaint really.

side skirts pics can see here:

Performance pack side skirts added as I hated those OEM side sills.

should have added these when I leased it but missed that tick box.

TRC front splitter added too to finish it off. £50 used from seatcupra.net

small subtle things but time to leave it alone now and wear those horrible Conti 5sp tyres out.
