New daily 320d
Discussion
It’s my first BMW, first diesel and first RWD car. It drives brilliantly. Very quiet on the inside. No squeaks or rattles, handles really well and goes alright too.
Got a few subtle mods planned. Noting too big, but a full wheel refurb, all new centre caps and badges, paint the front end and might even remap it. 184bhp standard, 220 bhp possible and a good bit of extra torque too.
See how it goes over the next few weeks. Was hoping to get it all done before Christmas. Needs a good detail first.

Engine bay plastics all treated now. CarPro Pearl (for the cleaning freaks).
All the interior leather cleaned and protected this morning too (303 Leather Cleaner then 303 Leather Conditioner).
Next job is to get it up on axel stands and get the wheels off. Pair of front MPS4S and drop the lot off to get the wheels refurbished. New OEM centre caps and new OEM bonnet and tailgate badge.
Tailgate struts have seen better days so they’ll be getting swapped too.

Coming along nicely pal
Any thoughts re engine, timing chain, remap etc?
It seems to have full BMW history and regular oil changes. No sound at all from cold. I’ll be getting it remapped. Emailed Rick at Unicorn but he doesn’t touch these earlier cars any more. Might be a trip across to Kenny at Motorsport Developments in Blackpool instead. I know he has a great reputation and been in the business for many years. Any thoughts re engine, timing chain, remap etc?
Unless you can recommend another good mapper.

That's not too bad then pal
I've heard good things about Kenny; same with King Customs too: https://en-gb.facebook.com/kingcustomfabrication/
They did the back box delete for me on the E39 and they're good guys & seem to know their stuff...
What about the likes of Celtic Tuning?
As for alloy refurb; can't remember where you are exactly but I'd highly recommend Sam at Tillings in Longton
I’ll give MD a call tomorrow, see what they say. I've heard good things about Kenny; same with King Customs too: https://en-gb.facebook.com/kingcustomfabrication/

I’m just outside Wigan. I’ll get Wheelrite to do these ones. He’s done all my other sets and they have all been perfect. He lives local too so he doesn’t mind me dropping them off at his house. Easier than trying to get to Chorley before 5pm during the week.
