I brought my impreza around may 2006, this was my second impreza that i owned (R.I.P 1st impreza, it came off the road in snow etc)

I brought it from a member off scoobynet, and it has been in the UK from new. here are a couple of pics of what it looked like when i go it, it was all most standard at around 49k miles.

It was not long before the modding but started biting!!

Ist off was a andy forrest td05/06 20g turbo and a set of 550cc injectors, autobahn88 fmic and a apexi induction kit with a custom heat sheild, aeromotive fpr and a custom oil catch can.

The ecu that i went for was a apexi power fc, and apexi avcr
and to keep a eye on the engine a knock link and defi gauges. I put the knock like in the vent near the window as i didnt like the look of the black box.

next on the list i had a blitz nur spec exhaust, and my clutch started to slip, so went for a ap racing clutch with a act pro light billet flywheel that is around 4.5kg.

next up on the stopping side of things was a set of godspeed 335mm big brake kit

this is how my car was looking by that point

a year or so later i chose to use the aps cold air induction kit, and i changed the fmic pipe to fit.

By now the blitz nur spec was getting abit to loud for me, so i brought a new exhaust system.
this was a 3" decat down pipe, gt-spec headers and a full titanium system. the centre section and back box weighted just over 4kg!!

on the styling side of things, i had to take the front tints off and i brought some new alloys, as i fanced a change over the grey ones. I got some Works emotions smile

this is how my scoob is looking now

then i had a spoilerless moment, and i quite liked it

At the start of this year, is where it all started to go wrong frown

on new years eve, some w**ker thought it would look better with some racing lines on my car, then a week later i had a v small bump at a junction frown

my car was in a right mess, gone from a mag feature car (Japanese performance dec 2008) to a keyed up mess. the start of this year was a vvv low point for me, and i just felt like chucking the towl in for good.

over the next month or 2 at the start of 2009, things started to look up. once i knew it was going to be repaired i started to buy a couple of bits and bobs.

1st off was a bmw rear boot spoiler, as i wanted a more stealth look to the car, I had been running spoiler less for a few months before this with tape to cover up the holes.

I managed to find a boot lid with no holes in from new

I also got some apex inverted coilovers with 5/4 springs on as one of the things that i didnt like was the tractor look

next on the spending spree was a dual sensor charge temp sensor from RB motorsport

the next thing on the list was a carbon bonnet, i know they dont really save any weight, but they look soooooo cool.
I went for the seibon one.

I went for a new fmic as my autobahn pipe work was bent up, I went for the hybird version, and when they are side by side, the hybird look sooo much better made.

from what i have been told the standard filter on the aps caik was getting on its limits at around 350 bhp, and i was aver that by now, so i got a larget filter, and had some custom pipe work done so it would fit

I got my car back from the body shop and it looked better than new!!

I have only really driven my car on the road for a couple of weeks now, as i book her in for a map tweek to make sure everything was running ok, as i had changed a couple of bits, and after that, my bottom end started to knock frown

this is how it looks like now

Went to JAE this weekend, borrowed my dads camera and had a go at taking some pics

So this year I have spent a wad full of money on her, and have only driven her for a couple of weeks, and as soon as i found out the bottom end was on its way out, i parked her up in the garage for a few more weeks.

I chose to take my car down to Alan Jeffery at EngineTuner down in plymouth. it was around a 600 mile round trip for me, but from all the feed back i had red on different forums about there work, i felt it was the right choice to do.

I went for a fully forged 2.1 stroker
my engine spec is this now

2.1 Stroker
Wiseco pistons.
K1 H beam long rods.
New 2.5 crank.
Cosworth head gaskets.
Cosworth engine bearings.
Cosworth sump baffle plate.
RCM up rated oil pump.
ARP head stud kit.
Fully balanced assembly.
8.4 to 1 comp ratio.

Apexi power fc ecu
Apexi power fc commander
Apexi avcr boost controller
APS cold air induction kit with a big k&n filter
Full Titanium center section and back box (4kg total weight)
3 inch bell mouth decat down pipe with heat wrap
GT-Spec 2 stainless headers
Lots of heat wrap
Andy Forrest TD05 20G turbo
1 bar actuator
Zen Performance 740cc injectors
Hybrid front mount intercooler
Go faster bits under drive pulleys
Aeromotice fpr
Fmic water spray
255 fuel pump
VTA bov
Magnacore HT leads
Custom oil catch can
Knock link sensor
ACT gauge in fmic pipe and air filter
Samco turbo inlet hose
Samco air box hose
Samco other hoses

there is a lot that i have prob missed out along the way, with bits that i have brought etc, but i feel it gives a good idea of the progress of my scoob over the last few years.

Over the winter i fitted a impreza sports bonnet and this game my car a real sleeper look, with the all most spoilerless boot.

I have also startd to tidy a couple bits up in the engine bay

I know it is not to every ones tasts as i get greef everynow and then for putting a sports bonnet on and removing the spoiler, but in a funny way i think it works.

please be kind smile

thanks
ian

Nice - like the sleeper look thumbup

interior next then? i've never thought the seats as standard feel "special" enough
to be honist the seats are not the best, but do me fine. the car is used mainly to go to the shops and back and take the mrs and little one places at the weekends and the odd bit of fun every now and then. It lives locked away most of the week. it is more of a hobby for me than anything.

most of the impreza around my car are stickered up, rally rep, and look like they have driven through halfords.

i have gone the impreza 1.6 n/a look with no bonnet vents, big rear wing, etc etc

yes it is not a full on sleeper by hte standards of some out there, but from the norm that i see it is.

im running a fmic so dont realy get heat soak on the intercooler. on normal driving the inlet air temp is around +6 dec c over air ambent temp.

when i have the standard or the vented bonnet, it was slighly cooler, but from being a little warmer its nothing to worry about.

thanks for the kind comments all

the turbo in the 1st pic is a td05 20g and it made around 420 hp with v-power and 10% methanol

the turo in the second pic is a TT s206 from enginetuner in plymouth. i made 450 bhp on v-power only. other people are getting around the 500 bhp mark with meth etc on this turo.

it is a little more laggy than the 20g, but the boost comes in harder and holds right up the rev line.

I am going to a rr day in feb, so should have some new numbers then

I got hold of another inlet manifold, cut all the lugs off and smoothed out all the casting marks, removed the 3 small breather pipes in the front top, and replaced them to the rear. then powder coated black.

the coilpack is at the back under where the bov is.

its only been moved there for looks and nothing else
