155mph limited?

I often here about cars being limited by the factoy to 155mph. Especially mercs, etc.

Is this also the case for porsche? Or are they unlimited as from factory? If so, why do certain cars require limiting and others not?

And no...I haven't had the courage to find out for myself!!

Yep...I have heard that on mercs for example that you can get the limit removed (although not sure merc would do it for you). Maybe a back-ally garage job.

Seems pointless having a 200mph car limited to 155! Not that you would necessarily do that speed...but still...!
