Just seen the pics in Autocar - looks superb - apparently being launched in November.

With the 991 getting bigger an more of a GT, could this be the next '911'?

I would guess the new Cayman is pretty close. If it's announced/launched this Autumn, then the production process will follow pretty quickly - configurator, order taking, dealer presentation, on the road by March.

I think it's the GT2/GT3/Turbos that tend to have a longer gestation period between official annoucement and eventual production.

I suspect that the 'phone' pictures don't do the new Cayman justice. It appears to still have disguises on the lights and rear hatch, plus the federal rear bumper.

Who knows, but it could be the most exciting mainstream Porsche for a long time, which could hurt the 991.

I think it looks gorgeous and will be a big success - may be at the expense of the 991.

Saw a new 981 Boxster at my OPC today, next to a 987 Boxster, and the new design really dated the old one - same as the 997 dated the 996 and the new Cayenne immediately dated the old Cayenne. Same will happen with the Cayman.

Porsche design is on a roll. Just a shame that the first (current) Panamera is such a disappointment - but looking forward to the Sport Tourer http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8032/8029769519_bfa4...

Good post, but I disagree. The Cayman has always looked a bit weedy. 987 Cayman looks muscular and aggressive; taut not bulbous. IMHO of course smile
Don't you mean 981 ?
