Thought I'd share some pictures of the new weapon I've acquired a few months back. Previous Porsche was a 993tt which was awesome and I really got to know the car well after 8 years of ownership. As I got more involved in racing I got less enthusiastic about road cars, for me they lacked the same focus and uncompromising approach. I wanted a car that was very special, I wasn't going to drive it alot but when I did I wanted it to require total focus and concentration, something that could bite as well as reward. I figured it needed to be a limited production run to be a reasonable investment and i'm a big fan of great engineering.

My first drive in a CGT was not what I expected, it's very mechanical and very raw, just like a race car, i was expecting something alot more reserved and was pleasantly surprised. Heat haze in the rear view mirror at traffic lights, gearbox whine in low gears and a road car being so sensitive to tyre pressures was a revelation.

The sound is phenomenal, especially with the roof out at high revs and probably even better if you're directly behind it in a tunnel. The pace it has in the right hands is difficult to match I would say, it really requires a driver to raise their game to the same level as the engine & chassis. The clutch is notoriously difficult at standstill but I like it, it keeps the focus on the car and the driving experience.

I chose the CGT, she has less than 3000 miles on the clock. Hope you enjoy the pictures & see you at Goodwood breakfast club tomorrow if you're there.

My old car. I have owned it twice, the first time I bought it I wanted the best available,
Regretted selling it both times !!

It's a lovely lovely car.

  • btw famous ex footballer was the owner inbetween my stints with her, he paid £370k !!!ish I think for it and did 100 miles in it !!! That was an expensive 100miles for him but cheapened up my ownership.
Enjoy
It really is great, it's hardly been used especially relative to the numbers of owner's it's had. Had a great drive down to Goodwood today with the roof out, the noise from it is epic. It attracted alot of attention from enthusiasts down there, you just don't see them that often. Having said that when I was at Reading Porsche recently I counted no less than 13 of them in the warehouse! I was dead set on a black car for a longtime however a friend persuaded me into the silver, it does show off the lines of the car very well, especially the concave door panels.
