I am considering a 987 Boxster but I’m fairly sure it won’t fit in my tiny garage.

The garage is 2375mm wide x 5050mm long. The length is fine as the Boxster is approx. 4350mm but the width is a real problem. The Boxster is 1801mm wide (excluding the mirrors) and 1952mm including the mirrors. By parking the car with around 100mm between the edge of the passenger mirror and the garage wall I will have a gap of 400mm between the driver’s side of the car (not the edge of the mirror) and the garage wall. Do you think this will be enough to get out of the car?

I have a mk3 Mondeo as a daily driver and I tried parking this in the garage last night. I could get out of the car but it was a bit of a squeeze. I’m 5’8” and fairly slim (around 10.75 stone). The seat in the mondeo is higher than the Boxster and the door is shorter in length. Not sure on the width of a mk3 mondeo but doubt it will be much different to a 987 boxster.

Thanks in advance

Parkng with the roof down will certainly make getting in and out easier but I was hoping to keep the roof up when in the garage to stop the interior getting dusty.

The house is timber frame construction.and the garage walls are plasterboard dry lined so I might gain a few cms by recessing the plasterboard at the door location.

Roof won't close remotely - indeed the instructions tell you to only do it with engine on to avoid running the battery down.

Where are you OP? Happy to swing by in my Cayman if that helps (and you're close).
Thanks for the offer. I live in Dunfermline, just north of Edinburgh.

I live 5 miles away from you...If the weather is good at the weekend I could bring my Cayman down and see if it fits In OK.
Hi Klippie. Thanks for your kind offer. I'm actually away on holiday for a week on Friday but will contact you when I get back.
