996 gt2 rear spoiler removal

Evening,

Hoping someone may have already been through this process, any tips on removing the GT2 spoiler blade at the rear? I've had a look at the PET diagram and it looks like you need to remove the covers (labelled 2) around the uprights, it shows a screw (labelled 1) but how do you access it, do you need to take of the black plastic trim under the engine cover that contains the fan unit etc?

The reason to remove it is to check that it's at the lowest setting and to also allow the machine polisher access.

It looks as if there are adjustments that can be made to the angle of attack, between 1-6 mm.

So how to access screw number 12 in the latest picture, it screws up from underneath the upright?

Had another look at this with fresh eyes, the screw is located inside the black air duct in the upright. 4mm allen type, once this is removed the plastic cover can be pulled off, and the rest is straight forward. See picture two, you can see the hole that the screw passes through, so don't try and just pull this piece off as it would break.

Was b***** careful with the spoiler once removed, as OPC wanted close on £1200 plus VAT for a new one unpainted!

Only other tools you will need is an 18mm socket for the bolt that holds the fork bracket in place and a 5 mm allen key/socket if you want to remove the fork from the blade.

Loctite has been applied on the 5mm allen bolts so if you take it off for painting/polishing etc don't forget to re-apply when refitting.

I didn't find any shims anywhere when I removed it, so I think it's safe to say mine was set to street use which was the default setting when the dealers attached the wing, speaking to the OPC the cars shipped without the blades attached and they were fitted by them as part of the prep.
