Hi All,

I was hoping for your thoughts on which 911 to go for. I am still deciding between a 911, XFR and C63 but having been out of my 996 C2 for a few years now I have hankered to get back into one.

I have test driven both and the Turbo excites me I think because its a 911 turbo and damn fast but not sure I would miss the PSE. Also I would have to go for an older one to fit into budget (early £40's) and there arent that many manual's around that price range.

The 997 Gen 2 C2S would be a newer/nicer place to be, could get an 09 in my budget, can fit a PSE (if it doesnt have one) and isnt exactly slow.

So would I spend all my time in my newer shinier 911 wishing I was in a Turbo? Is £43K ish too much to spend on a 9 year old car? In an ideal world I would go for a newer Turbo but budget just wont allow for it.

So if it was your money which would you go for and why?

Cheers!

I think the other issue is that when I actually look at it there really aren't any decent manual Turbo's in my price range. Looks like late £40's is where they start.

Good skills! Might have to give that a go myself!

That's where mine started at - I paid low £40's though smile

For those of you that have gone turbo did you go for manual or tip? (And why?)

Manual would be my choice also!

Any issues or thoughts on these 2:

Been hanging around for a while but from a good dealer and I like the colour.

Hate the steering wheel (I am assuming they can be changed!!) but don't know the dealer and no decent warranty by the looks.

Drove a PDK a couple of weeks ago and really didn't like it for this car, I like to feel in control and despite it being a superb piece of technology the manual just feels right for me.

I love manual turbos, they give me and the missus something to wave at as my pdk drone ship accelerates past at near light speed.
