Basically I work from home so don't have to deal with the daily commute.
The car gets used to go to the odd meeting/site visit, visit freinds and the odd blast at weekends and down to Lemans once a year. In total proberbly less than 6000 miles/year so the daily drive thing doesn't bother me too much, more of a concern is insurance, runing costs & depreciation.
The good thing about the 993 is that I'll be able to get a 10 year old model on a classic policy (I have a tow car for sprinting my Westfield)
I'd quite like a 993 but a bit worried about spending £25K then having extra bills ontop (seems like good ones are going for £30K-which seems quite expensive compared to early 996's) & i wounder if they will drop in price much???????

The other cheaper option is 2.7 boxster or VX220 Turbo, both available for £20k with low miles etc.....
I'm planning on having a test drive in a VX soon.
I need something faster than the 944 as on my trips to Lemans i go with a group of Westfields & have trouble keeping up (B$ you ask my Westfield although road legal is more of a sprint car 260bhp, full cage, small tank etc........)

Thanks for youe help.

Andy

P.S. 350Z not really in the equasion...nice car BUT

Don't kid yourself that you'll get a decent 993 for that sort of money. If you want a Porsche for that, look at a Boxter S or a late 930 Turbo. Avoid the 964 as - lovely though they are - they are very expensive to run compared to the earlier and later models

Thats what I was thinking... & £25K is really at the TOP of my range £20K is more reasonable, think I'll try a Boxster & a VX220Turbo, I would also quite like an Elise but it would have to be the Vtec powered one & there min £25K & group 20 (the VX is Group 16)......
