Guys, I've been patient but, based on the recent letter, I think the time has come to come together to sort something out.

If you're interested, please PM me with your name, contact number, cost and supplying dealer. We need to discuss this OFFLINE, or at least in a secure forum, so please do NOT discuss the matter on this thread except to simply state that you've sent me a PM. Thanks guys. I've had circa 15 responses so far but expect that to increase considerably over the course of the day. It's 3am for me so I'm going to hit the sack and pick this up again in a few hours.

Let's keep this thread focused on the job at hand.

A number of GT3 owners have been in touch with me and I'm collating all of the information into a spreadsheet. Some owners from other markets would also like to join in and they're welcome. Collectively the more owners/depositors we have, the more leverage we have. Right now for the UK alone we're knocking on £2.5m worth of cars and there are still many who haven't PM'd me yet.

With customers from other markets included, the value will be significant and the objective will be to focus attention directly at PAG rather than PCGB or OPCs. At the end of the day, they receive their instructions from Germany and they can only do what they're told to do. Hopefully we'll get a satisfactory result out of this for everyone.

Let's not discuss specifics/details online but keep that offline.

Keep the PMs coming. Thanks.

OTHERS
Many others have PM'd me but not specified they have done so on this thread. I will endeavour to send a confirmation email to everyone but I suggest that you register your interest here on the thread as well. If Modo66 hadn't posted to this thread, I would not have known to expect a PM from him. It also represents a collective show of force that we're getting together as a group. Please direct attention to this thread with other owner/depositor PHers who are posting on the main 991 GT3 thread and let's increase our numbers. Thanks.

Do not take litigation with Porsche lightly. Group action could drag on for longer than the period you own the car and whether you win or lose costs could be greater than any compensation.

That said getting everybody together to present a case is the best approach. Hell get Hammond on board too...
There's a distinct difference between the expressions 'group action' and 'class action'. Group action does not mean legal action, it means action as a group. In the first instance, we just need to get everyone together. I hope that clarifies the situation.

You missed me off your list......
I didn't want to be presumptuous that the people who have PM'd me but hadn't commented on the thread would want me to reveal their identities. Apologies if you thought I'd left you out because, rest assured, you're on the spreadsheet! smile

I'm doing my best to maintain discretion therefore I'm only collating the names on this thread of those people who have openly declared their support. I encourage everyone who's contacted me by PM to also make their support known on this thread. It helps ensure that no PMs go astray as I can cross check support on the this thread to my PMs.

Feel free to add me to the "registered" list. And thanks for taking the time and trouble to start organising this.
Sorry DAEDALUS - you're definitely on the list now.

Macca brought to my attention that a number of Rennlisters want to join us so we've posted a similar thread over there. This is fast becoming a global collaborative effort resulting from Porsche's poor handling of the situation. The more the merrier. Thank you for your support.

av185 - I've registered your details. Thanks for your support.

Just to update you, with the difference in our timezones, Macca and I are effectively running a 24 hour round the clock registration. We currently have registered stakeholders from the USA, Canada, UAE, Sweden and, of course, the UK. The aggregate value of vehicles registered so far is circa £4m in less than 36 hours. Let's keep it going. Thanks.

What exactly are you hoping to achieve here? There are complaints that Porsche are ignoring you, what do you expect? They have presumably offered to refund deposits or take the cars back, what more do you want? I can see it all over the press 'Rich Porsche playboys upset because they can't play with their new toys yet' yep, you are in for lots of sympathy. As for legal action, for what? Porsche are acting responsibly and reasonably, are they contractually obliged to do more? The general public know that all manufacturers have these issues and potential Porsche owners are not going to be influenced, they have a bad enough reputation anyways with customer service, OPC charges, M96/97 issues but they sell more cars and especially SUV's than ever. The most you can reasonably expect is compensation for a hire car.
Thanks for your insight.

**** UPDATE ***

Registered supporters will receive an email shortly with a link to a private forum so that GT3 stakeholders may comment openly but privately. Please be sure to check your SPAM folder or, if you're using Gmail, please check the 'Promotions' tab. I will post a confirmation update when the mailshot has gone out after which time you should expect to receive the email in your inbox.

Macca and I would like to thank everyone who has registered their support so far. Registrations are still coming in and we continue to update the database. If you haven't already registered, please feel free to do so.

Thank you again for your support for this initiative to take action as a group.

Kind regards,
Sierra Mike & Macca

I'm going to be offline till tomorrow so please feel free to contact Macca if you need anything in the meantime. The collective value of the group in terms of GT3s is now in excess of $10m and rising.

**** UPDATE ****

We have been inundated with membership requests to join the GT3 Action Group. Since we validate each request individually, this has been a time consuming but very worthwhile exercise.

We want to clarify the criteria for membership of the Action Group. The Group is only open to GT3 stakeholders who are either owners or depositors. Furthermore, we must be able to validate you as a genuine stakeholder. A user can be validated if he/she is known to us as a stakeholder, by virtue of his/her posting history on Rennlist/Pistonheads or other forums, or a member (known to us) from either community can vouch for that user.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but discussion on the forum is private and we won't risk the initiative by allowing access to a non-stakeholder. If a user cannot be validated, he/she will not be invited to the private forum but can still join the Group and subscribe to the mailing list.

Please note that only Macca and I review the registration data and this is held in the strictest confidence. It will not be shared with any third party without the stakeholder's explicit written authority.

If you're interested in joining the Group, please PM either Macca or me and include your:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Contact number
  • Owner/Car Pending/Depositor
  • Supplying dealer
  • Cost (with and without taxes)
  • VIN (if available)
  • Supply Date (if available or expected date)
  • Registered Date ( if applicable)

Thank you for your support.
