Andy was 44 i think, and had suffered with a collapsed heart artery, i'd tried to contact him yesterday and left him a message and text him regarding meeting up for the Specialist Cars of Malton breakfast meeting this morning & thought it was odd he hadn't come back to me, but then thought nothing of it.

Got the message via his mum this morning while i was on route to the SCOM meeting, made me feel physically sick with shock TBH & put a dampner on the event for me, he was a nice chap very generous and passionate about his Porsche and cars in general. I have been to loads of Porsche shows and classic car shows with him over the last few years and alsways had a bit of banter with him been a fellow Yorkshire man. You just don't know what's around the corner do you?

Great lad.

It certainly brings it home to those of us the same age.
44 is far, far too young.

Terrible shame. frown

Did he have a wife or kids?
Split up with his girlfriend and no kids fortunately.

I turned 45 two weeks ago, it does focus the mind doesn't it, you just never know, but when you read things like this even if you don't know the person it does make you stop for a moment and think about them and the fact they were probably doing just the same things the rest of us do in our somewhat routine lives, just a few days ago and then bang, gone. I guess thats why we all must try to make everyday count.

Sad and Sorry for the loss, and condolences to family and friends.
Spot on mate.

This sad news has been playing on my mind all week. So I've tried to get something positive from it. A few things, I've needed to put right in my mind and life. We are a long time dead, tell your family and friends you love them, don't take it for granted, we are a long time dead.
And for all you Porsche owners, with silly insurance policies with only 3k, but only use 2k, ffs, drive them.
RIP, my fellow Pistonheader.
Well said Neil, take it easy buddy.

I think i will be selling his 2004 996 Turbo on behalf of his family which is the least I can do.
Its an amazing piece of kit, had some great fun with him on numerous occasions when i had the GT2.
