Just been looking at spy shots of the 991 GT3 RS – it looks so much more modern than the 997 equivalent. I think the 4.0 RS will still hold strong, but I suspect those people who are now paying what looks like a £20-30K increase for the 3.8 RS from 12 motnhs ago, will take a bath in about a years time when people get over the fact the 991 RS isn’t a manual car and people see it on the road/showrooms/magazines. Could be wrong, but I think they’ll find their £90K level again within 2 years

Everyone will have their own opinions I guess, but I think the 997 was the only RS which had a facelift in that model range didn’t it? I could be wrong, but I think 964, 993 and 996 only had one model RS. Also none of the other RS models since the 964 and 993 have increased in value over their original showroom price. They will always hold their money well in my opinion, just feels like the hype around manual v’s paddle has artificially increased premiums

Time will tell…..

If you look like 3.6 + 3.8 + 4.0 you get something like 4600 cars globally.

I would expect the 4.0 to stay up there as the last Mezger/last manual. 3.8 is an open question for me. At a guess it will go up somewhat, drop a bit when the 991RS hits with trade-ins, and settle somewhere near current prices. These car are not RS 2.7s in rarity.
Agree with this and the 4.0 is the unique 997 RS. As an additional comment, I would say (unless people are being unnecessarily awkward) that the driving 'feel' of the 964 RS differs in a significant way to the 993 RS, which again differs to the 996 RS and therefore you see a real difference between the models. The other question is then that a 997.1, 997.2 and 997 4.0 RS will feel quite similar to eachother compared to previous RS models, unless you are a very talented driver. As such, I think the average non-collector buyer would be just as happy with any of the (non-4.0) 997 RS models if they were buying it to use and enjoy - and as such would probably not see a massive value difference between them. Would I pay £25K more for a .2 over a .1? Nope
