GOODWOOD CHARITY DAY Sat 19 July 2014

Tony, Jonathan and Andrew are repeating last year's Goodwood Charity Day in aid of Chestnut Tree House, the only children's hospice in East and West Sussex. They care for over 280 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions. Our event involves a Track Day run alongside a Paddock Meet with all proceeds going to the charity - last year with everyone's help we were able to give the Charity over £6,000.

TRACK DAY:

We have hired the circuit for Saturday 19 July and PARR will again be supporting the day. Goodwood run the track day event and because of noise restrictions (105dB) it is 'sessions' only (not 'open-pit').

PADDOCK MEET & SHOW n SHINE:

We have the use of the 3 Paddock areas, including the covered garages and there will be a small Show n Shine event with prizes.

PARADE LAP:

During the lunch break we will be allowed to line up the cars (max 75 cars) on the Start Grid, have pictures taken and do a lap of this historic circuit. We will hold a Raffle afterwards with the main prizes being a Porsche Half Day Driving Experience at Silverstone and a Outdoor Car Cover for your Porsche.

Great, and thanks.

...email me directly if you can't get through.

We haven't heard of any access issues (but that doesn't mean there is none).

Access will obviously depend on your company's policy, and I very much doubt it is url specific, but the below may redirect you to the website - worth a click.

We have an afternoon slot come available, and 2 or 3 all-day slots are also available (as they are still unpaid-for).

ALL proceeds go to the children's Hospice - Andrew, Tony and I all pay full-price as well. wavey

C'mon guys, the Hospice costs over 6,000 GBP *every day* to run. thumbup

Official photographs are here - thanks again to John Rampton.

As I was doing 'admin' I didn't take my usual reams of photos, but I'll post up a few when I get a chance.

Once the money raised is totalled-up, I'll post that up here as well.

......and before anyone says 'why is there a single BMW in the line-up', we had three very late cancellations, each of which donated their full-entry-fee to the charity (so huge respect to those people), and VERY kindly a friend of one of the other driver's brought his modified BMW along and paid FULL entry-fee, all of which can go directly to the Children's Hospice.

bow

Thanks to all of you who gave, large or small amounts.

clap

The 'profit' from the track-day is still coming-in (due to the last-minute changes above), the raffle money was estimated by CTH at 'over 500 GBP'.

On top of that we have the 'Paddock' donations, and donations from people who couldn't make it this year but still wanted to support the Hospice - this sub-total is currently 1580 GBP plus 370 Gift-Aid.

It's not too late to give a tax-back Porsche-flavoured donation to the Hospice - via JustGiving.

Apologies for the delay, but we have a final total raised directly to the Hospice, and done through JustGiving so that it is easy to claim your tax back on your donation.

The total you raised was 4,520.01 plus 940 Gift-Aid (reclaimed tax) which equals
£5,460

https://www.justgiving.com/Club-Carrera2014

This is an amazing total, given that July turned out not to be the ideal time for some of you, and the weather might have put a few people off from turning up on the day.

So we'll be back to our October slot in 2015 - thanks very much, and see you then.

Special mention to several Track-dayists who couldn't make it at the eleventh hour, but still donated their money to the charity - I think I love you.
