964 C2 Tip full engine re-build.
Discussion
Gentlemen of Pistonheads, your assistance is requested.
I am finally biting the bullet and having a full engine rebuild on my 964 C2. The car still pulls like a train and has no issues apart from the numerous oil leaks. The engine had a rebuild at 82K before my ownership but it wasn't done very well and I find myself at 115K and having it done again properly. The company I am using are specialists in building race engines for the touring car series in the UK and they have done a lot of work on other specialist cars such as Porsches.
What I would like to do is turn up with my car and on the passenger seat I would like to have a big box full of all the components / gaskets / seals that will be neccesary for the re-build, any specialist Porsche tools as well, if someone could point me in the right direction for a one stop shop for these parts I would be most grateful, also if any of you 964 owners can think of any other jobs that would be recommended whilst the engine is out of the car. I am already replacing the rear shockers.
Any help will be most welcome, so thank you in advance.
Cheers
Tod
