New GTS marks end of the 991?

Guys apologies if this has been covered somewhere else but GT spirit running a story that the new GTS debuting end of the year in LA will mark the end of the 991 platform and start of the 992... Any thoughts or more insight?

That's exactly what I thought MTR but article suggesting it will be called the 992 not the 991.2. Would seem fairly quick considering 996 and 997 were both around for what 6/7 years in their gen1 and gen2 guises or facelifts...spy shots not always the best things to go by but does look VERY similar to 991..
