Without disclosing any names to maintain a level of confidentiality I have been offered £150,000 to sell my GT3 to a specialist

Their margin makes the car £150,000 +

And I decided to decline - what else would I buy?

Interesting - mine car has a list of £122,000 so quite a high spec

£175,000? Well that seems achievable by the time the clocks go back!

Yes 991 GT3

Can you uplift the value to higher than cost - would they pay out on the higher value?

The insurance aspect passed me by

Thanks for the heads up

On the phone now!!

A 458S if you want to add £70k or a nice rental house for £150k here would get you a £750 a month return.
In London £150,000 would buy a garage !

And I don't do Ferrari, so the GT3 stays

Having been offered the £150,000 I did seriously stop and thought "sell" and move on

But then I thought .... to what

Ferrari - no Lambo - NO NO NO , Aston - no , eh .......Mercedes AMG - totally no

So I buy a 991 something at £115,000 for a nice spec and shed £50,000 in three years and realise I should have kept the GT3

So, no brainer (almost) And I'm Scottish !!!!

Yes - and it was bloody good. Sadly by the time I drove it I had already turned down a slot from my OPC (it was during the radio silence phase of the engine debacle). Another of my great decisions…..
Join the club

When I bought my 9934s I rejected a 10,000 mile 993RS with 10,000 miles at £50,000
An 18,000 mile 911 Carrera 1988 at £25,000 . Thought is was too much 3 years ago - now what is it worth
A 23,000 one owner 928GTS at £22000. Tempted but bottled it

How much did my Scottishness cost this time - £200,000??

HavIng declined £150000 I do wonder at what point in the curve would I take the money
£175000 possibly as then it becomes an asset and not a car to drive and park
And that would be a real shame - but we all have a price and I think that's mine
Or have it stored professionally and anticipate further rises
First car ever that I have owned that has increased in value from day 1

I had heard that they are looking at a mid-engined car at the £225,000 entry level to compete head to head with Ferrari and Lambo
That might diminish the need to have a GT3 or GTRS GenII 991
Time to put that deposit down!

I can assure you that I was offered £150,000 for my black GT3 . That's a hard fact so its not theory at all

I was possibly lucky that the specialist only wanted a black GT3 with a high spec for a client

But the offer was in writing and payment was at point of collection

Gen2 GT3 likely 2018 just been told
That's a long wait and won't impact of the current model. Just makes it even rarer

Yes just gone to £150,000 at a modest increase

Beyond that the underwriters require a higher excess if upped to £160,000 which I expect is reasonable due to the higher risk involved

But at £40,000 over list (on average) can we complain?
