9e 28 at VMAX Stealth

60-186 mph in 24 secs in slightly damp conditions = 0-186 mph in 27 secs assuming 0-60 mph 3 secs (we weren't launching hard for obvious reasons)

On a flat road the 997.1 turbo 9e 28 package is easily good enough for 25-26 secs as Brunters is on a slight incline and not the best surface. The cars easily two second quicker than Ken quotes lol! He also says 9e 28 has 640 bhp but quite a few Brunters veterans say that you need 720 bhp to break 200 mph at Brunters.

The package has been improved with IPD Competition 82mm Plenum and GT3 throttle body to be fair since it was first put on the market. Perhaps time to call it the 9e 26....

We weren't using full track today but she still achieved a top speed of 202.3 mph GPS verified within1.5 miles driven by Chris Mann on his own. I was only v.slightly slower two up at 201.7mph biglaugh

Good old Ken, Under promise over deliver......
Being Brunters Ken thought we'd do well to maybe cover 60-186 mph in 27 secs. I think he was chuffed to bits that one of his baby packages was so much quicker than he expected.

Chris managed to run neck and neck with a Veyron at full chat to approx 110 mph which is incredible for a lightly fettled turbo with no internal mods. Couldn't believe what I was seeing as the Veyron was properly on it!

I'm still buzzing! Many many thanks to Imran for being the generous (crazy) petrolhead he obviously is to chuck the keys to his 911 turbo to me today.
Was my first ever drive of a 911 for myself and my first sighting run was 190mph in the damp in a beautifully tractable and stable car. A child could literally drive that car on track its so stable and sorted.
My first 200mph run was on run no2 and once i realised the awesome brakes were upto it then 202.3mph flashed up in no time. I didnt launch hard as it was someone elses pride n joy and on a fairly sharp paddle clutch so my best 0to60 was only 4.1s but boy does that car shift once rolling.
I know nothing of the tuner and have never heard of him or met him till today but I'd have one of those turbo kits in an instant. The car drove so well. I'm still on a high after such an excellent day. We kicked a few supercar butts and i had the match of a veyron side by side for a while but by crikey those things move once they wind up.

I did 200mph in just over a mile on 5 occasions in total and then watched the owner potter off home at the end of the day :-)
Imran you are a true gent and i thank you from the bottom of my heart for the v max experience today
My pleasure Chris. It was great fun! I wonder what she'll do at the Welsh VMAX in July? 5 miles of smooth tarmac!!

Cracking result, chuffed for you OP. Did a Veyron really do a 224 & beat Henriks 9 EXX?
Wasn't Henriks car but it was a 9e XX. I think the 9e XX had the legs on the Veyron but the owner was new to the 9e XX power kit and was struggling for traction as it was damp. If Henrik had been driving I think she'd have been good for maybe 230mph. Having said that the Veyron would also probably be quicker with Henrik at the wheel as he's a VMAX veteran and quite mad from the vids I've seen! I was out in the 9eXX with Ken yesterday and she's shockingly fast.

Big crongrats IM, how was the wind was it full tail or was there some sideways buffeting ?
Side winds were quite scary at times. Not sure on tail winds tbh. Weren't ideal conditions today. I was struggling for traction at launch on Cup 2s and damp. The surface at Brunters is terrible tbh.

It was interesting there were mega cars everywhere yesterday but I didn't feel short changed in the 997 turbo at all. Perfect Q car.

There were Huracans launching sub 3 secs to 60mph and sub 6 secs to 100mph with full launch control but i bet we were having far more fun trying to coax the best top speed run out of my old girl. I think Henrik would have had 203 mph as we were braking in line with the brake board being novices. A braver driver would have been braking deep towards the final run off area. I do hope they get some vids up. I caught a 918 out twice lol (whisper it was being driven by pretty and no doubt v.wealthy gal)! I'm allowed 4 wives by the way!
The Hs, were very quick my friend in grey one, got the jump on me at the end, when I had almost no boost, zero batts, but only to about 90, at 180, he was a very very long way behind.....I could not see him...
I couldn't live with them with their LC and my ham fisted manual gear changes lol. A GT2 FS even managed to get the drop on me out of the blocks, Once up to about 80 mph the gap stayed the same with the H's though so on a rolling start I could maybe just about live with them perhaps losing out by a few mph. What top speed did you manage? I watched the grey H against you. You had the measure of the H all the way even with zero battery. The launch on your 918 with all systems on is the quickest car I've ever seen. I doubt there's a quicker car in the world 0-186 mph apart from Ken's Beetle with mustard up its chuff lol!

The book says it will max out at 214, I saw 213, you should have said you were on here I would have taken you out....to be fair I ran HL mode, not the best for drag but wanted to see the % on the batts. also did not drop the tires down....

Took Ken out, he says never been in a faster accelerating car to just over 100.....agree with the correct tire pressure for over 165, and the wing in the best angle for top speed, nothing faster to 300kph
heres your run against the H - to be fair the H was jumping the gun all day but amazing to launch 3.1 secs to 60mph and 6.5 secs to 100 mph in those conditions lol

There were lots of people filming my run against the Veyron I'm just hoping to see one soon. Just found this on the net, la ferrari vs veyron today. Was v similar incar from the 911 against the veyron. La Ferrari did 206mph today so only 3.3mph faster than Imran's somewhat less expensive supercar!

Not bad only 4 mph slower than this puppy!

Mad quick!
Best 0-60mph 3.6 secs. Best 0-100 7.1 secs. Pretty decent too considering wet weather. Half a second down on the Huracans with a manual gearbox and Cup 2s not too shabby albeit we only managed to do it once and they were doing VBOX 3.1s and 6.5s all day!!!! biggrin

The black 918 made the H look like it was standing still from about 80mph or so, didn't it?! Astonishing acceleration from once it gets going and to about 150mph from the look of it.
In full attack mode with full battery H would be left standing from the start. I watched a few launches and it was incredible

I don't know what we're looking at here, is it the gauge on the right, what is it showing ? full coupling until what speed ?
no just look at the speedo, do you see any tail off from 165, this is when the front motor lets go..it still pulls like a train.....
I think theres' something wrong with the VMAX traps. There's no way the 918 and Hs were 200 and 204 mph just no way. I was doing VBOX verified 201.7mph and the grey H had the legs on me. I understand I may have been going quicker chasing him down but honestly that thing was at least doing 205 mph + IMO and the 918 even quicker

Twin turbo UGR car.

I raced a late run out model SL and left it for dead. I was amazed there was such a difference but I suppose I should not have been as its "only" running 570bhp. Beauty of car though but looked very slow on the drag strip as did I to be fair compared to many of the cars there. there's alway a bigger fish in the water lol!

I did think that, I am taking a vbox to the next one....I saw 215 speedo..
No chance your speedo is 12 mph out. Porsche don't do that.Worst case the H and 918 were about 4-5 mph slower than the speedo.

Nah, The 918 was doing 203/204, you can see clearly on the video above he goes through the beams at 210mph speedo for which 203/4 GPS sounds right.

2 mph is a big difference when you are travelling at 90 metres per second, a lot more power needed to gain those extra mph at those speeds and levels of drag. and don't forget your 997 turbo has very low drag especially in comparison to a 918 or a H. (If I get time I will crunch the numbers to illustrate.)

Then of course we have the 20 to 37 mph tail wind on the day, this makes a big difference as H will tell you and shouldn't be ignored, We used to refer to it as "the hand of god" after a previous PHer gained an incredible 6mph on one run.
Yes agreed but remember same for everyone. Honestly Toby that 918 would have zapped everything on that particular day and it was ridiculously quick. You run at Wales against it from a rolling start at 50 mph over any distance you choose and I believe you may struggle from what I saw. I'm only a newbie to this seen but that car was ridiculously quick. It makes mincemeat of the H without trying and they were battering me
