Went into the dealer today to have a look and ended up putting a deposit down in this:

Any thoughts? Good or bad.

It looks reasonably competitively priced to me? What figure should I be aiming at after haggling do you think? Any opinions on what figure it would have traded in at?

Errr....you really should haggle and agree a price before placing a deposit?
Not necessary with this dealer, he didn't actually want any cash as a deposit. I told him I wanted the car subject to test drive and haggling and offered some dosh to hold the car and show I was serious, he took my card details but said he wouldn't bother taking any cash as it was a pain to refund if I changed my mind. I didn't have sufficient time to test drive there and then.

He knows I'm serious about the car so it's no problem. Going back tomorrow to agree details.

I would strongly suggest you also get the car PPI'ed by a well regarded specialist including a bore scope inspection.

There was a recent tread that has since been removed (for breaking the Name & Shame rules) where a chap purchased a 997 from a so called, Porsche Specialist. The car had a Full OPCSH. A couple of months into ownership he found that the car needed a full engine rebuild.
Hi, I've read and read about borescope. Is it an issue on a Gen II? I thought not which was part of my justification for spending a little more money for a later car.
