I met Rob Dickinson, aka Mr Singer and had a good long chat.
Chris Harris turned up unexpectedly (not to see me I might add) so a good natter was also had.
Greg, Singers' UK servicing chap was an absolute pleasure and a mine of info, showed me all round the car in detail.
Furlongers have sent me the website config link and password.
And now I am stumped! Need to savour the whole experience and spend time with them looking at various materials and paint options.
Greg sources a donor 964 too.

What are you going for?
Coupe, 4.0, 6 speed with lsd and ohlins is all I have "decided" right now

Nah I can't see anyone bothered to do that if they can blow 250k plus on a singer they clearly don't need the cash Singer make incredible cars, that is in no doubt but the original cars will be worth more money.
Put it this way, anyone who buys a Singer over say, a 993 or 964RS is betting the wrong way.
However, if they dont care about money and just want to make a car that suits them then fair enough.
We are talking about cars here.

These are the wheels. Singer have spent a lot of time getting this right and if you talk to Rob, the wheels and tyres make the car. They complement those gorgeous arches and work has been done on suspension and removing adverse potential of bigger wheels and lower ride eg to bump steer etc.

Just spent a couple of hours with Paul from Furlongers who are working with Singer in the UK on sales. He brought a huge box of material and colour samples.
So far we have put a few specs together, gulf blue with a two tone interior, and a light pastel gray and an ivory with shades of red/purple and houndstooth interior. Various details on weaved vs smooth leather, where is carpeted, etc. All the cars have the Porsche stickers on the outside rather than badges, and are 4.0 coupes with big brakes, 6 speed and LSD and the carbon bucket seats. Singer are able to produce detailed renders and so I'll put a few up when I get them. They offer 72 colours for the exterior but you can also do paint to sample so there is anything you like. We've gone for some carpet and leather options that aren't in the sample box but I am sure they can do those too. We got down to geeky details too, like do I want exposed bolt heads on the fuchs-style alloys or not. Fantastic!

To me, the front of an earlier 911 and the suspension and rear of the 993, on paper at least seems like a good idea.

Not sure about the 993 question as they have done all their work on the 964. I think Rob's feeling is the 993 introduced the multi link rear suspension and he prefers the 911-ness of the trailing arm. Anyway, they produce such a small number of cars I doubt it makes a lot of difference to the 964 market. I would expect Singer to be working on other variants at some point though.
