Discount / extras from Porsche dealer
Discussion
Am currently in the market for a new Cayman, list is £39k with £6,333 of options (that I've already cut back on).
Spoken to three OPCs and none of them will give any discount or dealer contribution. One has lowered the APR (PCP deal) to 6.7% but that's about it.
I've not bought new before so unsure what's the best approach to get a few freebies in.
Before the finance police appear, the reason I'm going down the PCP route is because I'll be putting 54k on it in x3 years so want the flexibility of being able to walk away and hand the keys back. Or if it's worth more than the GFMV then buy it for £17k and make a profit. Car allowance covers the monthlies so all it's costing me is the 10k deposit plus servicing / tyres.
Any advice re negotiation would be grateful.

how does that work lol what is the total payment for the car if you buy it ?
I would NOT ask for discount in price, but try and get 10% of free options, or say yes I will pay full price if you throw in PCM or some thing.
ALWAYS walk away if they say no. THEY WANT to do a deal that day, it is the start of the 1/4 though so BAD time to be buying from dealers atm.
can you wait till the last week in Sept, that's the time do go in hard ball.
It will be September when I'm looking to purchase anyway, TBH it may even be December.how does that work lol what is the total payment for the car if you buy it ?

Good shout re the 10% options / PCM proposal. I will try this approach.

Not sure if you're still looking, Gav, but I've been doing a fair bit of shopping around recently.
I've eventually gone for a used 981 cayman as it had a lot of extras on it and I got a good deal, but as part of the process I looked into getting a brand new one with a similar option cost to what you're after.
Three separate OPCs (wilmslow, cardiff and bolton) offered me the 6.7% APR on their PCP plus £1200-1500 off list price, so there's defiantly a deal to be done out there. I suspect that it may have been possible to go a bit further with the discounts as they were all just first offers from the garage in question. I'd had quotes from an independent finance company first which I was up front about as they were very competitive (6.5% APR). I think going in with that sort of quote at least gives a starting place to go from, if you let them set the pace you'll get daft quotes to start with.
Define irony...this is exactly what I've just done.I've eventually gone for a used 981 cayman as it had a lot of extras on it and I got a good deal, but as part of the process I looked into getting a brand new one with a similar option cost to what you're after.

Got mine from Dick Lovett Swindon, some of the best service I've ever received. Highly recommended.
