Porsche 911R Discussion Forum
Discussion
As we don't have a specific 911R thread (apart from one pointing to what else may be at Geneva), I thought it would be worth having one.
First details have been leaked, http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/porsche/911/94601/new...
What are general opinions? Do we think this will be a limited run 911 or similar to the Cayman R, a raid on the parts bin and available to all?
Can we see this car being the desired 911 in the range?

To be fair, that's not accurate at all.
If the rumours are to be believed:
- 6-speed manual gearbox
- Updated engine
Which for many people will make a massive difference!
However, if the rumours around the GT3.2 are to be believed, this will also have the same gearbox as an option, so not clear what the 'R" offers above the GT3.2, particularly when you actually might have half a chance of getting a GT3.2...
I think he was saying in terms of looking at it, it will look similar, not that there isn't much different under the skin.If the rumours are to be believed:

It makes a mockery of this situation though when the boy on Youtube can jump all the 30 year loyalists and get a GT4 just because he makes some cringeworthy videos. Highlights their real agenda, very different company these days.
Well, a Porsche loyalist cannot become one until they actually become one! The situation is no different aside from the difficulty in obtaining a specific car. I'm relatively young (!!!), new to a specific dealer, managed to acquire a GT4...comes down to effort put in, how they see you and your worth to them long term...and I don't make videos btw Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
