So I have purchased two 991s in the last couple of months, trading the first in for the second. The first was a manual Carrera which, lovely as it was, as a London car wasn't right for me. Anyway I traded it in for a similar age and mileage 'S' PDK.

Both cars were from different OPCs - handover number 1 was amazing, photos offered, car under a cover, toys in a bag for the kids, presentation case for keys (fobs coloured to match car) and photo frame etc. Handover number 2 was pretty much 'here are the keys, off you go' - car outside, no effort made to make me feel 'special' having spent a lot of money on a car...

What's the norm, what are people's experiences with this?

Cool first world problem to have bro, vote with your feet and buy from the dealer that made you feel special if that's what is important to you. I would buy the best car at any one time and not really care about having my ass wiped, but that's just me.
Very helpful and inciteful - I knew there was a reason I was still a member of PH

Had I gone to collect a car and the first scenario had happened, I think I would've puked.
Yes it was cringey and I refused both photo and video but at least they made an effort - i think there's a happy medium in there somewhere

It's interesting that experiences vary so much and I would have had. I expectations of the 2nd handover had I not recently had a very different experience myself. It was also soured by a number of stone chips on the bonnet but that's a separate issue.

And yes this is relatively trivial and a 1st world problem but I would say a lot (most?) of things discussed on PH most people outside of the community would think are in the same bracket.

Just looking at your car history I believe you have had a total of 9 Porsches in the past, what exactly do you want to get from PH on this? You have plenty of experience buying Porsches so should know the drill by now?!?!?
Sorry, just realised that I never responded to this - yes I've been fortunate to own several Porsches but always from Porsche Swindon who did a nice handover but never over the top. My reason for asking is that I know my experience but not that of others, surely that's the idea of forums? This were my first cars from different OPCs and I was surprised by how different these experiences were.

Hope that answers your query.

On another note I've been lent a 991.2 C4S Cab for a few days, nice car but turbo engine sounds nowhere near as nice and defo needs the sports exhaust, also this one's got the assisted steering whatnot and it's so so light - not good.
