Porsche recently extended their warranty cover period to cars up to 15 years old.

My 996 Gen 2 3.6 (2003) with FPSH from new and 40,000 miles on the clock falls into this bracket.

Porsche have offered to sell me a 2 year warranty for the car subject to a 111 point check.

Question - is this likely to cover any bore scoring issues in the future?

Cheers

Nick

How far will you drive in 2 years?
If the engine shows no signs of scoring now, how likely are they to develop within two years?

Assuming the 111 point check would pick up any scoring showing now, and that scoring takes time (well, miles) to develop, I think you'd need to use the car a lot in 2 years to justify the Porsche warranty.
Sound advice. After much thought, I concluded the £2000 was best spent investing in the car replacing parts rather than into a "warranty".
