Porsche battery - guarantee length

Official fitted battery already well discussed on theses forums. Really crap, but one has to use it to stay warranty compliant I know.

I had a new one fitted by an indie 14 months ago. Can check with him how long they're guaranteed for, but wondered if anyone here can tell me? I bet it's 12 months!

Porsche can, and will, refuse to warrant a car that contains any non Porsche parts. It is their right to do so and they have done on two of mine. Whether or not they can refuse a claim under an existing warranty if a battery is subsequently changed to a non Porsche one is less clear, but I suspect you would be on shaky ground. Daft, but if you buy such a policy you are bound by the terms and conditions you agree to.

Edited to add: Particularly frustrating re batteries. My wife's 997 has always cranked over slowly and Porsche has blamed numerous issues from starter motor to high resistance in cable. After 7 years I fitted a Bosch S5 and problem solved - it was just a crap battery (or three of them in my case).

The above is my understanding on life. It's all on their terms, otherwise I'd have put in a decent battery long ago.
