guys I really need some advise, here is what is happening to my Revo modified 996 TT:

Took my car for a good drive using it's favourite tesco 99 ron fuel and it is definitely not driving right, it loses tractions loads so I reakon needs a new sensor there plus it boosts to 0.7 bar in 3rd then drops off nearer the rev to 0.6 and 0.5 bar so that's not right - so in my guesstimates its needs a airmass sensor and maybe one for the exhaust too. MMMMnnn not sure what to do.

The Revo chip is pretty much the same as the DMS one so I would expect to see it boosting at 0.9 to 1.0 bar then more on overrun - what causes a lack of boost? maybe the waste gate is playing up?

all advise most appreciated before a OPC pulls my pants down and gives me a good spanking

cheers boys, I will look into the MAF thing - what do you think it's doing then running rich but not allowing the right mixture of air and fuel in? cheers

yes thanks for that!! the name I chose does seem like a mistake at times I have to say!! it should have been turboblaggit

I just want my car to get better - do you boys think that buying a new MAF will really help it with all the problems even traction control or rather lack of traction control control?

I have ordered a new MAF so this time tomorrow I will let you know if it fixes it - fingers crossed!

What still worries me the most is the fact it loses traction? surely the MAF would have nothing to do with this?

I got the wheels re-aligned a few weeks ago and all tyre pressures are perfect!

when I say loses traction I mean the PSM takes over all the time when I dont think it is needed so i wondered if the power wasnt being put down smoothly due to the bad MAF? I guess I do the MAF and then if that doesn't fix it look at it again

thanks Benno, they did that and said nothing came up and they need the car for 2 days to check it over more - so its cheaper for me to do the MAF rather than pay 2 days labour at £95 an hour

Right the new MAF has sorted it even better than I could imagine! I gave her a good caining and saw 1.3 bar in 4th and 1.0 in other gears with no traction issues, minimal engine searching, smoother at low speeds!! Its like a new car! Well worth it - happy now!!

Glad you got it sorted! you should be boosting 1.0 bar and the 1.3 is just a spike (hope!) k16's ain't good for 1.3 bar, lol[/quote]

Cheers - its only showed 1.3 on overrun and normally 0.9 - 1.0 is the maximum but no traction issues either now, it drives the best it ever has and is like a different car! think its time i took it for another blast!!
