Some of you may have noticed I've been keeping a low profile....

Well, sadly, my pristine and much loved GT2 has had a smash! Important point to note here is that I wasn't to blame; a labotomised lorry driver took me clean out, almost head on, at 55-60mph! I swerved, up a curb, through a wall and came to rest in the hedge. Not a pretty sight and neither was my face just before he got both barrels!

If anyone is interested in this car as a rebuild (track?) project, I can tell you, it was as clean as a whistle up until the crash. It has superficial panel damage and was only w/off due to high hire car charges. Official repair estimate including new PCCB's was £35k. Anyone wanting pics or further info, e:mail me.

RIP DEAR GOBBIE....I LOVED YOU VERY MUCH weeping

Victoria.

Thanks for all votes of sympathy folks ~ most lovely of you!

Next car is another GT2, obviously! A Jessica Wabbit isn't complete without her signature motor car!

I've bought the MK II car that's in at Clive Sutton. A rather sexy and adorable chap who posts on here (you know who you are hun!), found her for me. She's an 'as new' virgin, 3,000miles, one owner, etc, etc, etc. She was a tad on the pricey side (£85k!! *ouch*) so I used the low-cut top and short skirt discount technique! May post pics shortly when I collect her.

I've also got an order down on a 997 GT2 through a European dealer. Chances are the latter will be for sale in due course.

Hopefully my dear beloved Gobbie (gone but not forgotten!), will rise from the ashes and be seen soon on a track near you!

Victoria.

Shame about the accident, glad no one was hurt.. Didnt think a car could be written off due to hire car charges ?
When the repair time is estimated at +/-3mnths (allowing for some unforseen hold-ups), and the hire car charge is £700 a day (£517 for prolonged period), do the arithmatic and you'll see the massive effect it has on the numbers.

ref: hire cars, I had business to attend in Berkshire same day so needed transport quickly ~ the ins cmpy put me in touch with some rental cmpy who called and proudly proclaimed they had a 'lovely top of the range Vectra' for me! Hummmmm..... I tried very hard not to sound like a spoilt brat.

I now have a great deal of respect for anyone who drives these types of cars. To overtake anything other than fast walking pedestrians requires nerves of steel and negotiating corners is equally scarey! I had sweaty butt cheeks by the end of my journey. Next morning driving it again, I just wanted to kill the damn thing!

I called the ins cmpy in a desperate state, who said I was entitled to a like-for-like replacement car. They gave me a 997 C4S cab which was quite nice in the sun with the roof down. It was also a man magnet ~ if I'm ever single that's what I'm getting! Then I got that need for speed so they immediately provided me with the 997TT which I'm in at the mo. I can't fault their service. Strangely, the 997TT and C4S cab are both same hire price.

Anyway, that's the story...
