Anyone tried this - sure I can recall hearing somewhere that the 997 linkage is a straight swap (in a 3.4 996 C2) and improves the shift.

I'm keen to improve the quality of the shift, not necessarily the speed as not keen on short shifters. Are there any non-OEM kits that do this?

I've done it in my GT3...makes a really positive difference.

One of the advantages over an OE short shift is the price...997 shift is about £100
Excellent, thanks - so is that a 997 GT3 linkage kit in a 996 GT3 or is the part common across GT3 and Carreras?

Ok, done some searching and appears it is a common part with the advantage that the 997 unit has been made with more metal, less plastic.

Thanks for putting me on to this, looks like a worthwhile upgrade.
