Arhhh don't talk to me about PPI.

I have just had one done on the 930 I am looking to purchase. The so called specialist (that came recomended to me) come to my premises yesterday after I forked out £300.00 over the phone with my credit card.
The 930 was already on the 4 poster ramp (I am running a garage) waiting for him.
He arrived 10.30am and he started the PPI check. Well it took him 45 minutes and he didn’t even bother to remove the wheels, or jack it up to check the suspension. O question about rust etc he replied “bodywork and rust is not my speciality" eekeekeek alarm bells start to ring.

45 minutes later after making few notes on a plain paper he said “I am done ". WTF you haven’t even bothered to take the wheels off!!!! "AH its ok I can see it through the wheels" he replied. But you haven't even bothered to jack the car up and check the suspension!!!!! “Ah I can see if anything wrong when I gone on road test" he replied.
Well my apprentice could done better check and more informative one.

I am on talks with the person organized the PPI and if he not resolve the issue I will name and shame.
And why not? If I did that to one of my customers Il be the talk of the vilage the same day.

Rant over.

Thanks all.

Yep I should just payed a deposit I know now. But this is my first PPI I have done. I usualy do things like that my self......(been a mechanic for 24 years I hope I know what I am looking for lol) but I desided to get a 'specialists' opinion about the car.

See Ya thanks very much for your offer and I will be emailing you asap if that's still ok.

We had the car MOT last week and gone trough with not even one advisory.

Thanks.

unfortunately if you do that, we will have to remove your thread. Pistonheads has a strict policy on naming an shaming.
I suggest that you have a read of this thread if you are unsure

Hi Matt yes I was aware about that.

I should made it more clear in my original post.
There is other 911 forums that they will be more than happy to know who the so called speciacialist is.

I have left lot's of messages with him to call me back but he hasen't bothered yet.

I will be ringing my c/c company first thing tomorrow thanks.

And then I will be reporting him to the trading standards. We do NOT need people like him ripping people off.

Be careful out there peeps. My mistake was that I should looked at him up to find out more about him. But he has got a very professional website and like I said he has come recommended to me by another very well known PPI check company that they were very far to come and do it them self's.

Oh well leave and learn. I list he told me that the brake discs are slightly corroded rolleyes....thanks that was £300.00 worth of info!!

Totally agree with you. There are some cowboy "experts" out there. Friend had a Gallardo with obvious issues but sent it to a "specialist" as a potential buyer wanted it checked over. Specialist says its ok, friend sells it then chap calls back 2 weeks later with a list of work needing done on the car including the clutch. Friend agreed to pay half of the costs but didnt have to. I guess he felt a tad guilty as he knew the car was'nt 100% right.

Everyone should be very wary of these specialists.
Hmmmm I wonder if is the same company did your mates car??? as they do PPI checks on other makes too. Who knows.
