Porsche 968 Tiptronic transmission Damper substitute

Hi there

We currently looking into the possibility of substituting the Tiptronic transmission vibration damper with an alternative clutch component! We have heard rumours that it is possible to fit a Manual transmission Pressure plate and friction plate in its place (minus release bearing).

Can anybody out there shed any light on this. If this is a viable solution it would potentially save Tipper owners a sizeable amount of cash!

All sorted, clutch fitted and running smooth as you like! FYI a 2.5 944 clutch is a definite no-go due to the crank sensor pickup! No vibration to be felt anywhere.

Cheap solution and a damn sight more permanent than a 968 Rubber vibration setup!
