I will start off by saying that I don't think the original spiders have been bettered on the Tuscan for looks, and up until now I've had no problem with mine. Unfortunately I've started noticing a vibration above 60 which I've been told by a tyre fitter is warped rims.
Questions, after some searching I've found a company called Lepsons who advertise a refurb service, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with them? I've called and was told that some are repairable some aren't but don't want to go all the way down to Kent without some previous experiences.
Secondly are the new Spiders from the likes of Power and Racing Green built to a better spec?
And lastly, after reading a thread in the Sagaris section I got to thinking about alternative designs. On the Sag I think the Jade R design is actually better than the original. If anyone has gone down this route and have some pictures could you post them up please? I think I'd really be looking for something as close to the spider as possible but if there are any other suggestions it would be good to see them.

Cheers

Good find Cockey but only come in 19" from what I can find, but definitely the best alternative so far imo.
Gone through a load of alloy wheel sites and come to the conclusion the Tuscan looks best with at least 6 and preferably 7 spokes on the wheel. Personally I don't like to see a big gap between brake disc and rim either, and more spokes just seem to suit the car more.
Anybody with experience of replacement spiders from the likes of Power or Racing Green?

Thanks all for the feed back

Interesting Qbee thanks, any other pictures than the one you posted above showing the whole car? Any feed back on how the larger diameter affects the driving?

He sent me another pic laster last night smile Must be the only Tuscan that comes with a bench seat.....

Wow thanks QBee. Style for me is a definite yes as it's as close to the Spider as I've seen, and they fill the arches well.....but it's the gap between discs and hub the 19 inchers create that makes it look under braked that spoils it for me. Think I may be becoming over picky now!

Agreed, less than new Spiders and look great, but don't forget you need to factor in more expensive (I assume) tyres and with the increase in diameter the insurance companies would have a say too.

Well in the end I went for full refurb on all 4 wheels including straightening and recolour from standard finish to black 2 tone.

Finish is excellent and with the straightening of the rears all vibration above 75 is gone.

Lepsons in Kent did them. Worked out at £85 a corner.
