Anyone found a way around this please? Since adding a spoiler to the bootlid it's just too heavy for the strut to hold it open. Tired of resting it my head while trying to take the roof off and on..fill up petrol...etc.!

Thank you!

Thanks for all the info guys - the current new strut that was fitted is 540N - so I'm hoping replacing with a slightly higher rated strut will do the job, maybe this? - http://www.gasstruts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=...

Thanks, we invented it - it's a deep red candy dye over bmw space grey combo - its amazing how many different silvers we had to go through to find the colour I was looking for as the base dramatically effects how the candy looks over the top + how many layers of candy are used.

Would appreciate knowing how you get on Cockey. I've bought a 650N one to see if it can take the weight effectively of the bootlid with the spoiler - will try fitting when I get the car back.
