Hi,

Just some info for anyone looking to replace the oil hoses on their speed 6 engine with aeroquip style fittings.

The list of parts you need are as follows. I would highly recomend the teflon braided pipe as opposed to the rubber because they aer so light. All the new hoses with fitting weigh almost less than one of the original rubber hoses which are ste. Cut the teflon hose with hacksaw after taping the cut point to stop the braid unraveling. Just be careful with bend radius as you can kink the hose.

2 * 5/8” BSP to AN12
Scavenger Pump to tank
High Pressure Pump to Oil Tank
2 * 5/8” BSP Dowty Washer
4 * ½” BSP to AN12
High Pressure Pump to heat exchanger
Heat Exchanger inlet
Heat Exchanger outlet
Oil Filter pipe
4 * ½” BSP Dowty Washer
7 * AN12 90 degree Bend
Scavenger Pump end
High pressure Pump to heat exchanger both ends of hose
Oil tank to High Pressure pump both ends of hose
Hose to oil filter end
1 * AN12 Straight
Scavenger pump to oil tank
3m AN12 Teflon braided hose (you may get away with 2 meters depending how you route the hoses)

All bought from Hosefittings UK on ebay who are the cheapest and deliver next day if you order before 12. Also they are bloody helpful if you have any queries.

It is a Mk1 2000 Tuscan 4.0. but I believe the hose fittings are the same on all the models.

I will take some photos this afternoon as I am replacing the fuel hoses from the bulk head to the fuel rail. When they are all in and working I will post a list of the the aeroquip fittings for those as well.

Cheers

Chris

The pricing looks right I believe it was around the £250 mark - as it was a bit of trial and error to get the right size BSP fittings I spent a bit more.

If you want any others let me know.

It was however a futile gesture installing them as the replacement engine I just fitted and started has either a burnt valve or seat on cylinder 6 as it is not firing and is sucking air back in through the exhaust.... ARGGGGHHHHH

I bought the car in October and it has moved a total distance of 50 miles. Last engine had a big end failure thanks to the previous owner replacing it and not cleaning out the heat exchanger and oil tank of metal fragments that then blocked an oil gallery. The heat exchanger was completely blocked there were enough metal fragments in it to fill a shot glass.

So far the only mechanical parts I have not replaced are the differential, drive shafts and steering rack the car was a DOG to say the least. Cylinder head rebuild time now, it will be another month before I get to drive it...........

This car has been chewing through about £1500 a month since October and it still does not work.
